Samir Carruthers

Post by DA Mikey »

Apologies if this is common knowledge and/or has been slathered all over antisocial media, but Samir Carruthers has made his last appearance for the club this season as a consequence of knee injury - hitherto played through - having escalated to MCL and cartilage tear. Speaking yesterday, he sounded jubilant of his 16 year playing career in a tone which suggested returning to the field unlikely.

I remember first seeing Samir at Hampton & Richmond and thinking what a serious talent. Sadly, injury seems to have curtailed his career. One of the finest players in non-league on his day.

He’ll be missed. It’s no coincidence that our season has gone down the pan with his absence through injury. A truly great player.

One of the very few ball players the club has had over the past few years. Thank you for some great memories Samir, would be great to see you in some kind of managerial role in the future.

This is sad news. Samir is a talented and exceptional footballer. I feel sure there is a manager within and hope to see him in the dugout at PP in the future

Gutted about this. Have sung his praises since he joined, unbelievable footballer with an unbelievable footballing brain. Him taking up full time barbering makes me question whether he’d like to go into management, but I do hope he does as i’m sure he’d be class. Gutted.

Top man is Samir, excellent player too. Hopefully he recovers so he can still play, wherever that may be. Good luck to him in his recovery.

In Ady’s interview he didn’t say anything about Samir being finished he seemed to think he could be back in a few weeks 🤦‍♂️.

If Samir is now unfortunately finished due to his injury then just come out and say it.

Thanks to Samir for everything he has done whilst wearing the black and white and hope he can carry on in some form with football whether it be in a coaching or managerial role.
