Well the boys have made me eat my words and they’ve turned it around which is great but why the hell do we keep giving the opposition a 2 goal start.
Let’s build on this and keep scoring now, another cracker from Olly Box.

We definitely need to sort this formation out, wing backs are not working they either don't run or when they do it leaves us wide open,
then we have the route 1 straight up too callum that then by no fault of his own cant keep hold of if because Canvey knew what was coming and was ready for it,
When dsane got the ball I thought he looked dangerous but didn't see it enough, thought sam smith played well but I was standing next to the bench and he was constantly being told to hoof it too box.
Interested to hear other people's thoughts on today that was there.

Disappointing to not go on and get the win but good character again to come back. Hopefully Tennent can strengthen and organise our backline when he comes into the side

Just seen that was Canvey’s first point of the season… bit more disappointed now that we didn’t go on to win than I was 5 minutes ago
Re: Dartford v Canvey Island Sat 6 Sep 2025
Massively disappointing. Problems lie deeper than our defence, midfield has no physical presence and teams just breeze straight through it. Chasing a game and once again 0 subs made. Embarrassing result and performance.

At the risk of upsetting his fan club, Callum has been way off the pace this season.
Hasn’t looked anywhere near as dangerous as last season and is yet to get off the mark I believe?
Falling over outside their box continually isn’t working.
Not knocking him as last season he was pivotal, but for whatever reason this season it’s not happening.
I appreciate he runs round a lot, but aren’t forwards judged on goals?

Tried so hard not to be negative, especially so early in the season, but it’s very hard not to be. This is an awful feeling. What have we become. Yes there is a long way to go but 6 games can’t be ignored.

Callum is one of those players you cant criticise and im sure he is not happy with his performances so far this season.Eddie is a proper striker.Kermo18 wrote: Sat Sep 06, 2025 5:26 pm At the risk of upsetting his fan club, Callum has been way off the pace this season.

Bit hard when he's constantly chasing long balls that are just lumped up to him, so he's either against a far stronger centre half or just chasing empty space where it's been overhit.Kermo18 wrote: Sat Sep 06, 2025 5:26 pm At the risk of upsetting his fan club, Callum has been way off the pace this season.

Last season it wasn't nearly as bad for him, he was linking up play as well as using his engine. Impossible to do that this season when we are just losing it in midfield or bypassing the midfield completely

Re: Dartford v Canvey Island Sat 6 Sep 2025
Expected today to be the spring board for our season and although we came back from 2-0 down to get a draw it is disappointing as Canvey didn’t look good and I could see why they have lost their opening 5 games TBH.
I watched our defence for half the game and time and time again we were getting caught in possession or were out of position and giving them far too much space to play in. Saying that we were missing 3 of our defence today as well as our new signing so I would expect our main central defenders to be Tennent and Micheal in the middle going forward which I hope will sort out the goals against column !
Our top 3 for me are the only reason we are picking up any points ATM Oly and Eddie look sharp and it’s a shame Eddies shot didn’t go in at the end instead of hitting the underside of the bar. Calum will come good I’m sure.
Lacking leadership this needs rectifying with speed.

Got away with one today, even when we got it back the defence got in a right state at times. Having said that Ben had a good game after the first 5 minutes.
Jeremiah ran himself into the ground.
Disappointed with Samir but his half volley was going like a rocket with a good save from the keeper and how the strike from Eddie didn't go in is beyond me.
A pretty disjointed performance today with Box, Frempah and Pinder playing well.
Motm Jeremiah.

Re: Dartford v Canvey Island Sat 6 Sep 2025
We was bloody dreadful in the 1st half, Henly makes a save and then instead of getting straight up and reacting to the rebound he just lays there as though he’s sunbathing on Folkestone beach letting the Canvey forward knock the ball in. He can’t take all the blame though as there wasn’t a single defender in sight to clear the ball either.
Then for Canveys 2nd goal 2 minutes later they lob Henly as he comes running out of goal and yet again no defender anywhere near. ABSOLUTELY SHOCKING.
Luther had more holes torn in him than our goal net by their No 11 winger. Luther is not a full back he’s a centre back so why Ady has got him out of position I don’t know.
Our only saving grace is 2 of our former academy players in George & Olly scoring our 2 goals.
I’m afraid a 2-2 draw at home to a team bottom of the table with no points until today is certainly not a good result.
I don’t know what’s going on with Callum of late, he spends more time on the floor than on his feet constantly looking for fouls & penalties that are clearly not there. He needs to start staying on his feet and standing strong trying to shield and hold up the ball instead of tripping over a blade of grass. If we didn’t have so many players missing I’d be suggesting giving him a rest and playing Eddie & Olly up top with 4 in midfield.
Samir was bloody awful today except for 1 shot near the end, all he did was give the ball away but he wasn’t the only one as Pinder was doing the same. Our midfield was all over the place today along with our defence, in my honest opinion the only decent defender we currently have is George Whitefield but he can’t do it all himself. Ben Frampah has been seriously disappointing along with Sam Smith and although he’s not played since his sending off Michael isn’t good enough and is far to slow. We’ve not had a decent right back for a while now.
I think George & Luther would be a better and stronger centre back partnership.
Yet again it shows how dangerous wingers are and the damage they can cause but of course we won’t play with wingers as we don’t have a single one in the team.
We rode our luck yet again today I think as really Canvey was a very poor side, we stepped it up in the 2nd half and managed to get 2 back and almost a 3rd from Eddie which hit the bar BUT had it been a better team then I don’t think we would’ve pulled it level. We really do seem to be riding our luck.
Ady really has a hell of a lot of work to do to improve this team and he needs to start working fast. One new player who wasn’t registered in time to play today isn’t enough I’m afraid.
We need a new Captain and Assistant Captain as Michael is not a leader at all and I’ve never been happy with a keeper being a Captain as he can’t lead outside of his box.
I really don’t know at present who should wear the captains armband because I honestly don’t see a single leader in this team, there’s certainly not a leader on the pitch at the moment.
