It is usually the second or third Thursday in July for the Isthmian League.

Re: Bored!
I didn't want to open a new topic on this but I was just reading the paper version of the Faversham Times and I noticed the Secret Drinker had visited the Malt Shovel.
I can't remember when I last went past this pub and I definately can't remember when I last had a drink there, having not been beyond the Stadium for goodness knows how long. My last visit into the town center itself being for a Henning Wehn show and I definately didn't recognise a thing in Spital Street?? Where's Challenger and Hicks gone?
Okay, that was a joke.
Looking at the photo of the Malt Shovel in the paper I noticed Houses/flats in the background, I thought it was quite rural along there past the pub.
Was the photo misleading? Was the left turn sign for the junction with East Hill? Blimey it all looked so different.
My last recollection of Darenth Road was actually parking along there and eating some fish and chips. Very memorable in the fact that while chomping on said chips on a frosting night a chap heading towards East Hill in his car went into a skid while doing about 50/60mph, demolished the front of my car with his rear end, slamming into the side of my car with his nose end before finishing his parking by hitting the rear of mine with the arse end of his and mounting the kerb and going through the fence.
We knew how to live back then.

Funnily enough I read that too and had arranged to go there for some lunch yesterday but it was all locked up and curtains closed, so not sure when it’s open. We ended up in The Rose on Overy Street and very nice it was too!ozymandias wrote: Thu Jul 17, 2025 12:06 pm I didn't want to open a new topic on this but I was just reading the paper version of the Faversham Times and I noticed the Secret Drinker had visited the Malt Shovel.

That was also a pub of mine Clare, it was a nice one back in the 80/90's. Mason's too.
