Re: Dartford v Cray Valley PM Sat 2 Nov 2024
My post was meant to be a direct response to the interview which would have been obvious if it had immediately followed it, but I hadn't noticed Tony had got his response in first. My bad, I should have quoted the interview

Once again the referee booked Sam for a scything foul and then let the CV guy do similar not ten minutes later on Sammy O with not even a ticking off.

To be absolutely fair to Spike, yes, always forthright with his comments and I too was confused. My sincerest apologies Spike for getting that wrong.Lars Resort wrote: Sun Nov 03, 2024 4:53 pm Not even Guardiola fronted up to an interview after a defeat yesterday but admittedly Ade is doing it a lot now.
Also he definitely can't praise the fans for the support as the gaps are getting wider in the stands and the team is definitely not giving anything to shout about.
Apart from the screaming fan after the game.
But I do understand the confusion from Tony on the Spike post, even I wondered where that was going. Which is very unusual for Spike.

Yes it was in response to you Tony H and although I don’t know what the budget is I have heard from good sources that the budget hasn’t been spent the same as it wasn’t spent last season with the clown in charge.Tony H wrote: Sun Nov 03, 2024 2:13 pmIf that’s a response to my post 5th, then how would you know what the budget is and how much is still available? My view that we have insufficient experience in the squad goes back to the start of the season and, I repeat, we have some hugely talented young players at the club with bright futures, but not yet ready for this level of football. The signings we’ve made, in my opinion, reflects the budget the manager has available to him.The 5th Searcher wrote: Sun Nov 03, 2024 1:50 pm Considering there is still budget available and players are being signed that haven’t even played for 5yrs doesn’t make any sense at all. Yes you are right we have signed players that lack the experience required so why sign them in the first place, we also have some players that DO have the experience but just are cutting the mustard either.
One of them constantly gave the ball away yesterday or over hit his passes yet some are saying he was MOTM.
The fact of the matter is that unless some changes are made and fast then we are likely to be in another relegation battle, things are clearly not right within DFC from top to bottom and things need to change.
I very much disagree with your final sentence and regard that as an attack on people prudently running a business and without taking a gung-ho approach by spending big on players when the funds aren’t there. Seen it all before mate, trust me!
I honestly couldn’t give a monkeys as to how you’ve taken my comments the fact of the matter is that things clearly aren’t right through out and that’s obvious for even Stevie Wonder to see I’m afraid.
When you’ve got so many LONG TERM LOYAL supporters all saying very similar things as well then something has to be wrong. I have also seen it all before after being a long term fan for 46yrs and I’m not expecting loads of money to be thrown around and wasted BUT I do expect a far better standard of football than what we are currently getting / seeing. This is almost as bad if not worse than when we was playing Kent League football all those years ago, in fact I think we possibly had some better players back then than we have now. I have no doubt that we do have some players within the club with bright futures BUT if they aren’t up to it ready for this level of football then I’m afraid they shouldn’t be in the first team yet, when they are good enough and ready for it only then bring them through. Fans who pay their hard earned money either at the turnstile, buying season tickets or another way they put money into this club deserve to see more than sub standard / below par football.

I saw nothing that had me in raptures. I can't see anything at the moment that was anywhere near the win over Chatham earlier in the season.
If Ade and Roland feel they are on the right track let's hope that this time next week we'll have another 6 points in the bag. But somehow I don't think that will be the case.
The report in the NLP comes across as a well earned point for CVPM's, I don't think so.
If yesterday is anything to go by, if we get 2 points I'll be happy.
But I can see our local hero perhaps getting another MotM at some time soon.

Hoping for 6 points Dave.
But realistically 2 points is a small possibility.
This campaign is more about hope than expectation.

This time last year CVPM went to Charlton and got a draw in the FA cup, they are clearly a decent side with a good manager in place, a club on the rise.
We are rebuilding it would appear, I hope we can challenge for the play offs as a minimum, as my expectation of DFC is that we should be competitive in the National South, not also rans in the Isthmian league, however this is where we currently are.
Unfortunately many supporters have higher expectations than our current level of performance (and league position) fans are not happy.
