Coulson scored 2 pens for WSM to win 1-2 away to Chesham.
Former Dart Jason Prior scored a brace for Dorking in a 2-2 home draw vs Borehamwood.
Chinn scored one for Farnborough in a 2-0 win vs Eastbourne.
Femi Akinwande scored the winner for Hornchurch in a 1-0 home win vs St Albans.
Re: Dartford Players of The Past
Former player manager Glen Coupland passed away over the weekend. Condolences to his friends and family. He probably deserves a thread on his own.

That's true jonty. Glen was good at the back for us also apart from the handball incident at Bishop Stortford, which I don't think I'll ever forget.
Good player good manager. RIP. Glen.

Also as said, Aveley have had their five minutes worth of Luke Allen, or to be precise, 48.
Shame, he might have excelled with us for a season before hanging up his boots.

Re: Dartford Players of The Past
Ouch, another one who thought he was NLS material.
Re: Dartford Players of The Past
Was chatting to Statham Snr. ahead of the game at WSM last year about the state of the DFC team, I think a couple of weeks before Dowson got sacked. Although we had only just embarked upon what was to be our avalanchian course down the table, the signs were clear and manifold that our squad was not fit for purpose. I remember saying to him that “we only have 3/4 players good enough for this level” and with that, being relieved and impressed he didn’t ask if his son was among that number.
Truth was, the three players in my head were Luke Coulson, Richard Chinn and Sam Odaudu, with Max Statham the 50/50 (of course I would have upgraded him immediately, had the question been asked).
Tommy Block, Baris Altintop and Olly Box would also have been NLS-worthy, but weren’t playing for various reasons.
We really did have some dross last season. Crazy to think we were shite for 18 months yet still managed to finish 2nd in the middle of it. Got found out big time eventually.

Re: Dartford Players of The Past
All credit to Sam and Olly for staying then considering a lot on here rate them very highly.. Both have proved us right this season.
One would have forgiven both of them if they had tried to stay at NLS level.

Re: Dartford Players of The Past
I remember when Graham Carr signed Coups from Maidstone he was a centre forward but recall he was converted to centre back almost immediately. Turned out to be a great signing as Carr left around November/December time (1980) with Glen taking over as player manager. We went on to not only win the Sl Southern Division title but make the semi final of the FA Trophy. Out of the four semi finals we competed in after our Wembley appearance, we really should have won that match against Bishops Stortford as were the better team over both legs. Coupland and a very young Steve Robinson turned out to be an excellent centre back pairing. RIP Glen.Lars Resort wrote: Thu Aug 22, 2024 7:31 am That's true jonty. Re: Dartford Players of The Past
Shame about Tom Clifford as he would be an asset to the Darts as a quality , proven[ at least IPL level] overlapping left Back and great competition for Sam Odaudu , wasted at Ramsgate but no doubt pleased to be after his Tonbridge experience , good luck Tom , maybe see you at PP one day ?????
