All about different opinions and thoughts etc etc and I know some are very much “ it’s only first two games “ and I can’t say that’s wrong.
However, I’m of the mindset to hit the ground running and set the tone.
I know that’s what everyone would prefer but aren’t too fussed as it’s early days.

I think that makes sense

To be honest looking at those highlights first half we had plenty of good chances and at least one needed to be taken.

Just unfortunate an individual mistake has cost us again.

I don't think that's entirely true Dicky. What has actually happened to anyone who (genuinely) dares to offer a minority opinion?

I am only aware of Rick having to kick two people off the forum. One doesn't support the club anymore and has been continuously posting defamatory and libellous disinformation under a plethora of pseudonyms on all forms of social media and is probably in breach of the law, and the other was someone who isn't what he claims to be, almost certainly doesn't actually come to games and was merely posing as a Dartford supporter in an attempt to promote his negative agenda. The former needed to be banned for his own good and to prevent the forum from being open to legal recourse and the latter is just a mischievous oik with no desire to offer any genuine contributions to discussions. I think most people would agree the forum is better off without both of them.

As long as views are lawful, respectful and genuine you can say what you like on here. People are perfectly entitled to voice a negative opinion and frequently do so. Some might think I'm doing so myself, in my next post below. People who find themselves holding a minority view will often get a lot of flack from others who disagree with them, but that's no big deal, it's how a forum is supposed to work. Other people are not obliged to agree with us and if they don't, then that's just life. It doesn't necessarily make you wrong anyway.

There are two ways of looking at Saturday's game, you could say that we were unlucky to lose because of an individual error and had we taken one or more of the excellent first half chances we might even have won. Or you could argue that it's a sorry state of affairs when you have to drop your newly signed goalkeeper and centre-back after only one game and rely on two young lads who have come in on loan just hours before kick-off. Probably both are true, but it does feel almost as though we are having our pre-season NOW, rather than before the season started. Those two lads are probably both very good players and my MOTM vote went to one of them, but they're only here on loan so even if they come up trumps, they'll very likely be gone again in a few weeks and we'll still be trying to sort ourselves out in the most crucial of positions. Don't get me wrong, I'm totally on board with Dowse, he did a fantastic job last season and I trust he will get things sorted, but I am a little disappointed that having made such a big deal about arriving late last season, we appear to be a few weeks behind where we should be in this current one. Of course, a win at home on Tuesday will cheer us all up.

Is there taped singing & chanting edited onto those highlights I wonder?? If so that’s a v poor state of affairs!
Didn’t on the day & still not sure the ball definitely crossed the line for their goal though??

There could have been a lot more goals judging from the highlights and the lad in goal saved us on at least two other occasions. But we had our chances too. We are looking a bit frazzled in defense and one would like to think that Dowse can sort it. Having Rooney back will be a plus but the defense is our problem at the moment.
Hope to be there tomorrow but if not Saturday.

Also, I agree with M1, did the ball go in??? Although our lads didn't seem to argue much.

Those highlights were a bit of a surprise to me, as we seem to have more of the play and chances than I was thinking based on the comments to date and the commentary was probably a fair reflection. I expected a tough game at Weymouth. My first thoughts at Weymouth's goal were also that it wasn't a goal, because although McIntyre's body might have been behind the goalpost, it didn't seem that far behind that the whole of the ball would have had to cross the line for the goal to be given. However, I wasn't there and as others said, there was no appeal from the Darts players.

I also agree with Spike's thoughts in that we seem still to be in pre season mode in regard to not having a settled side sorted out, but I don't think the quality is in doubt, and there were signs to me in the highlights that we will settle into a formidable side. It is always a nervous time for me until we get our first win of the season. Hopefully, with the reversed fixture on Tuesday, that time will come then, especially as come Saturday, three of our first 4 games will have been at home.

Looking forward to the fortcoming commentaries

Factoring the angle in, probably about 4” clean over the line.
Big call at the time though!

I agree with this. It's clear that the attacking quality is there we just need to sort ourselves out defensively, and as long as that happens soon we will be fine.

2 big home games coming up, need to get some wins on the board.

Have to concede the goal was correctly awarded from Park Life's photo. I was making my decision at the point the keeper collected the ball on his chest and didn't follow up when he was almost on his backside. So I stand corrected.

Yes!! Brave words indeed M1S. Ha ha. I say them based on my thoughts that it's been such a short close season and the pre-season games, from afar, haven't seemed to have produced what I would call a settled side, so no opportunity for players to gel, but confident that they will.
