Yes we were bad, but we had clear chances to win the game twice over. And Eastbourne show what having a bit of quality up front gets you- Whelpdale's goal was no more than half a chance which he brilliantly converted. But we are so short of quality up front it's laughable. If your top scorer is served up two chances on a plate and misses both in ridiculous fashion, you know you have a team bang out of form and bereft of confidence.

I know L'Ghoul has already had a fair amount of stick on here tonight, but in his defence i lost count of the amount of times Eastbourne doubled or tripled up on him when he had the ball out wide. If he doesn't have the opportunity to attack the full back, or have any space at all, his threat is severely diminished. Simple but effective tactics from Eastbourne, but really frustrating to see us continually look for the same ball to a player who is not getting any joy on either wing.

I rewound the stream and recorded the three penalty shouts to watch them back. The handball in the first half was one of the most clear cut penalties you'll ever see. The defender's back is turned and he jumps with his arm in the air, which blocks L'Ghoul's shot. Tell me how that isn't a penalty?! The linesman is also on that side of the pitch to make matters worse. The second half handball shout is hard to see, but the players seemed convinced. And when Essam is kicked in the head trying to head in the rebound after Bonner has hit the bar...anywhere else on the pitch i think the referee will give a free kick. So why not a penalty?

But blaming the referee is futile. If you can't score a header from a yard out, or a tap in that lands at your feet, then you don't deserve to win games. The way things are going I'm not even sure three penalties would be enough for us to score.

No goals. No luck. No points. Importantly, no spark!

Great effort to get the game played well done to those involved.
A disappointing result, clearly there is something not quite right currently having taken just one point from the two home games.
Hopefully the situation with the league continuing will be resolved soon and we can find some consistency of winning matches.

Second half was very frustrating as there was not enough tempo to our play.
We played with two wingers tonight but both were ineffective and our full backs are still not getting forward enough and as a result we did not get in behind Eastbourne at all. Not any real sustained pressure tonight and although we had a few poor decisions against us we still had enough decent chances to have got at least a draw.

We are currently lacking that little turn of pace or power to open teams up and although we are playing good football it's a little too pedestrian at times with not enough cutting edge, maybe worth looking at starting Akinwande, Barham, KMB???? I'm confident Steve will sort it out and get us firing on all cylinders again.

It's really frustrating watching via live stream because i can't help but believe if we were in the ground we would have been the 12th man and motivated the players, that's no excuse though but the difference between this season and last when Steve took over and we attacked with pace and played with far more momentum is there for all to see. Coincidence? I don't suppose we'll know for sure until we can all get back in the bloody ground!!

Every game at every level I've watched during these difficult times lacks any real emotion and is played like a friendly, It's also tough not knowing if the season will continue and I'm now finding it very difficult to get excited about the games so god only knows what it's like for Steve and the players. Still i suppose we'll all be put out of our misery one way or another in the next week or two.

Shout out for James on the commentary. I preferred it with just one commentator and thought he did a very good job, well done mate.

MOTM, blimey that's a tough one as nobody really stood out.

The reality is we are averaging 1.789 points per game. The 3 teams below us in the league are averaging more points per game.If the 5 teams below us in the league win their games in hand they would overtake us.
I don't think the squad that Steve King has assembled is good enough to get us promoted, which means we need better players which in turn means a bigger wage bill

I trust King, hes got the quality to turn this around but there's got to be something not quite right in that dressing room. Another awful half is that 14 games now we've not scored in the first half?
Possibly not something right in the dressing room or perhaps the players he has signed are not good enough

Like others have also stated I didn’t bother staying home to watch the match before going to work and I am glad I didn’t. Something just isn’t right compared to last season. The play style is predictable regardless of the 30 players we must have used already this season. Without a better way of putting it, it’s boring. You could miss the first half of every game and not be in any danger of missing a goal, sometimes even an effort on goal

Sitting in fourth in the points per game table. Not bad at all

“No right to be competing for 1st place”
We are first because we’ve accumulated more points than anyone.
After all games are caught up we will more than likely be a few places lower.
Everyone knows this and no one is saying anything else.
So what’s your point?
Saying we have no right is a brainless comment. We have a right to compete for any position until it’s out of our hands.
Saying this no one is under any illusions of where we’re at, In fact quite the opposite.
All you’re doing is finding more ways to be negative again but this time it’s a pretty stupid one.
We have a right to compete for first place, it doesn’t mean we’ll get there.
Try understanding this.
Well said
