Eastbourne B (h) Tues 9th Feb

Post by TonyH »

Tough game, Eastbourne in form and one of a number of teams chasing us down for top spot. Must win for us this one I feel!

Must win? Each game that arrives feels less meaningful than the last - it’s starting to equate to playing a one-man lottery. Like putting your cassette tapes into alphabetical order for the grandchildren, watching all the Police Academy movies to write reviews in the Morning Herald, or simply being a Welling fan.

With the latest feedback from National League’s 66 member clubs, chances of completing 20/21 season don’t look good at all, with teams at the top of their respective divisions and the ‘big boys’ voting remain, while the rest put on their pyjamas.

But, we professionally persevere. Watching back the highlights from Saturday’s derby was more entertaining than seeing the game live (on tv), hopefully tonight’s vengeful battle is as exciting as our previous clash but with a better result (we’ve even got snow for you, Eastbourne!)

I suggest we treat each game like it’s our last from now. This one has every chance of being it.

I presume that Craig King is still with us as surely he will get back into the team after Wilkes recent mediocre displays , JBA must play even IF NOT 100% fit , dont play Romain as a right winger [ IF at all] and start to play to the level we did 2nd half of last season PLEASE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Would like to see King back in goal and Ronnie playing along side Tom.

We all hope so as we could all do with a bit of cheer with a win with the way the weather is.

Wonder how many people would have turned up to watch tonight if it was allowed? It's bone chilling weather, it would be a no show for me, almost too chilly to follow on the twitter feed. Hopefully The Darts will put on a show to warm us up a bit and bank 3 points.
