Arthur Horsfield wrote: Wed Aug 21, 2019 1:54 pm Spike, you have it wrong my friend. It's a forum and of course people can share their views. However I think the following. I have an old saying you cant give out bollockings if you dont give out bouquets. Many on here find that difficult (not all) and are on here to merely moan and groan. Now that's fine. As you know i have my moan and groans to you personally and that's because face to face you can have your say and I have mine. Forums or keyboard conversations can be poisonous because people can hide. If im having a conversation face to face with you I cant hide I'm right in front of you. Hey nothing clever in any of that but players and alike can be insulted by it all. Take one of yours and my heroes Ryan. Look at the abuse he has taken over best part of half a decade. Now many may say thats ok that's opinion, people pay through the turnstiles and this and that but it is abusive and cannot ever have any effect other than a negative one. JCJ have you not considered that everybody does in fact understand that the first 5 games have been disappointing. The board including TB, the players, the backroom staff, Jamie, Adam, Johnny Stewart, Jack Smedley, the wooden man, but what is the real point for a dozen of so people to go on about it as they do. Simply because there is a forum and that's what forums are for, that's nonsense. I and any of the above dont need people to tell us it's been dissapointing we all damn well know it but let's battle hard as a club from the top (the board and co) to the bottom (that is the plankton called Arthur Horsfield) after all we all do title ourselves as SUPPORTERS so let's do that. Support on both here and the terraces
Apart from the bit where you say I have it wrong ;) , I don't disagree with most of what you've written above, but it isn't quite the same as what you said earlier. I'll be honest, I was only really having a bit of fun in response to your comment "I've no problem with peoples opinions etc but why feel the perverse need to write it". That made me spit out my coffee with laughter and with all due respect, you of all people can't possibly say that and keep a straight face. Surely about 90% of everything you've ever posted is because you have a problem with other people's opinions.

That said, I am totally in agreement with you about the vitriolic personal attacks on players and/or management and the disrespectful way in which some people vent their feelings. I don't think we should deny people the right to voice their opinions, but I really don't like the way some people are so intentionally hurtful and quite vicious at times. You are quite right, it can have a huge detrimental impact and I very much doubt they would say these things face to face.

Spike, you've got it. It's a platform for would be managers and not very nice. I think personally its had is day. Who cares other clubs have forums and its "not as bad as some" its normally poisonous, detrimental and negative.

Arthur Horsfield wrote: Wed Aug 21, 2019 7:40 pm JCJ I reverse the question what would you say if results pick up. That's my point once again about faceless platforms. You wouldn't have to face the question that "you were wrong" would you. If results do or dont improve that's not my role thats down to the club not me. I have opinions which I will talk to people about personally but I will not use this forum to be insulting. And at times it is downright slagging of players and poisonous. Players and officials have access to this and it can be degrading. Now I talk to one or two personally and I know I talk fanny at times but how can that hurt face to face. This is faceless. Im so sorry if you think that's nonsense but I tell you this "it's my opinion" that old favourite
Arthur I really hope they prove me wrong and I will be honest and say I was wrong 2 wins over this weekend will make a huge difference and I hope we get them as like you I support the darts and nothing will change that

JCJ in all honesty The knives have been sharpened and many have as I said previously have popped down Wilkinsons to buy many more. I constantly state I have issues with the start of the season but for Christs sake I'm writing writing and writing tonight to simply explain this forum is faceless and not the correct way forward.

Well, I’m certainly getting bored of the forum these days.

Wish I could be at the game Saturday. Guess I’ll just have to wade through the bunkum on here to find out what happened. Hope that everyone going gets to enjoy our first win. Good luck to Vint on his return.

Message to the managers and team;

Sincerely 100% wish you all the best for the game Saturday and beyond. This is a results business and they have been disappointing for quite a while now. This makes fans and you unhappy. We all (you and the fans) really hope that the injuries etc. clear up and then we see the real DFC. If results continue to be disappointing I really hope that we all realise that something will have to change, what that is is up to you (the club) but if nothing changes and results remain disappointing then the result from the fans will be attendances dropping from the fickle and discontent from the die hard, they grin and bear it tho. On the other hand, if results do pick up, everything will be great (for you and the fans). - Hopefully that sums it up in simpleton terms to a certain extent.

Many ups and downs over the years, one thing remains, the fans - they are there forever - the Managers, various players, come and go don't they?

We have legendary managers and players over the years - they will be hurting like the fans, but one thing for sure, a win, a run of wins sure would brighten up everyone's outlook and mood, that's all that counts at the end of the day - RESULTS!

I absolutely agree with you the first one & a bit pages were about Braintree and the pending match the remaining three plus about for & against the Forum or for & against Arthur and his comments. :x

Can we set up a new topic for Arthur & Company post your thought's and comment there and leave this topic for the match on Saturday. :)

Arthur and I know each other and stand fairly close for most home and away games and have no problem's if we need to speak face to face so I thought no need to comment on here but it is getting out of hand and we have enough fans that no longer post on here due to postings like these going off topic arguing most of the time on the pretext of stating their case.

I will be at the match on Saturday and in the meantime will look forward to reading fans thoughts about what tactics or team selection they feel might change our result for a win and updates on the injured players etc etc. :D

Arthur behave and keep it to 9.30pm you know it makes sense ;)

Just one thing and I blame Kentc for this. When he said 'I give up', why the feck did you talk him out of it?
At the start of the season Gary said that he hoped this forum would be less volatile and nasty as last (not his exact words) I agree.
Well, bang goes that idea.
