Dartford Women Too Good For Dorking Wanderers After 2-0 Victory at Meadowbank
London and South East Regional Women’s Premier League, played on Sunday 3rd May 2026.
The penultimate away fixture of the campaign saw the Darts travel to Meadowbank on Sunday afternoon, to face Dorking Wanderers FC Women in league action.
The team headed into this one full of confidence, following victory against Ebbsfleet Utd on Wednesday night. Victory at Meadowbank for the Darts would set up a title decider next week at Saltdean.
The Darts began the game with real intent from the outset and went ahead early in the first half. In the 12th minute, Ellie Dolby crossed to find Shauni Griffiths in the box. The Darts forward rose highest in the box to head home to put the visitors ahead.
The Wanderers went close to levelling 11 minutes before the break as in the 34th minute, a swift counter-attack from the hosts, resulted in a cross finding Georgia Heasman in the box. The shot from the Dorking striker came back off the underside of the crossbar to keep the team ahead by one at half time.
The hosts began the second half searching for the equaliser and went close early on. In the 55th minute, a well worked move from the home side saw them get in behind the Darts defence, but Mercedes Bromfield recovered brilliantly to halt the attack.
The visitors went close to doubling the lead just after the hour mark. In the 63rd minute, Gabby Howell found Mercedes Bromfield in the 18yd box. The header from the Darts defender was held by Dorking keeper, Libby Stratton. The Darts went close again to doubling the lead 13 minutes from time. In the 77th minute, Abbey Davies sent a free-kick from deep into the heart of the Dorking box. The ball was headed towards goal by Shauni Griffiths, the header drifted past the post.
The visitors sealed the victory a minute later as in the 78th minute, Mya Lewis-Powell got in behind the Dorking defence, one on one with the keeper and a fine finish from the Darts striker doubled the lead for the Darts and sealed all three points.
Mylo has taken her chance and produced a clinical finish to put the Darts 2-0 up
FT Dorking Wanderers FC Women 0-2 Dartford FC Women.
Goals from Shauni Griffiths and Mya Lewis-Powell earned another big three points for the Darts. A big thank you to all the fans who travelled for the support. We will see you all next week for our final game of the season at Saltdean Utd. Up the Darts!
