Ady Signs New Contract & Player Updates

Re: Ady Signs New Contract & Player Updates
When I saw the news about the announcement I was hoping for a tough tackling midfielder . If the guys we have signed are better than what we have then it’s good news but I don’t really don’t understand another forward when Eddie can’t get a start . I guess Ade knows more than me so maybe it just to freshen up the squad

Team selection could be interesting/topical today and for the rest of the season.

Re: Ady Signs New Contract & Player Updates
I am thinking that Ade has probably made these signings with a view that with suspensions looking more likely

He's going to need a bit of cover in the run in.

Kev, at the Fans Forum meeting Ade did mention when asked that Eddie is still struggling with an injury and isn’t fully fit at all. He just can’t seem to shake off this injury and so can only get a shorter time on the pitch than would like.KSTDART wrote: Sat Feb 14, 2026 2:23 am When I saw the news about the announcement I was hoping for a tough tackling midfielder . It's a good idea to strengthen the squad for the vital run in so it will be interesting to see what impact they will make??
But going on the clubs post on X it's still not clear how long Winfield is with us??
We've arguably now got:-
7 central defenders - Whitefield, Tennent, Williams, Olarewaju, Frempah, Winfield and Smith.
5/6 forwards - Box, Dsane, Smith, Jones, Vaughan and Eze (if he's still with us??)
My priority would have been a wide attacking forward/winger and an experienced central midfielder.

You mustn't mention a winger as well as the B word PL

Both Winfield and Vaughan go straight into the starting line up with Olly Box dropped to the bench alongside Eddie Dsane.

I’m sure Ipswich will be delighted to have him back.

Look at that look of relief on his face!
Re: Ady Signs New Contract & Player Updates
When we originally signed Winfield i couldn't understand it because at the time we had - Whitefield, Tennent, Williams, Olarewaju, Frempah, and Smith. Ady put him straight in the side at Potters Bar and changed formation and that poor decision cost us the game. WInfield did ok for us and whilst i know Whitefield (our best defender this season) had a suspension we still had other defenders to cover his absence as Whitefields partnership with Tennent was looking good.
When Winfield signed the club announced:-
"Experienced centre back Dave Winfield joins from Hornchurch on loan for the rest of the season"
Shortly after that another club announcement was made:-
Apologies but, the length of the loan deal with Dave has not been specified at this time.
Absolute joke, surely if were going to take someone on loan at a vital stage of the season we ensure we keep him otherwise it's not worth it as has been proved. All we've managed to do is piss off even more players.
Now the club announce:-
"We are hoping he will be able to return at a later date"
Yeah if we're really lucky we might get to keep him for a long weekend....

Have to agree with this, sadly a reflection on the poor recruitment strategy ( or lack of ) that seems to have been poorly thought through throughout this seasonPark Life wrote: Sat Mar 07, 2026 7:44 pm When we originally signed Winfield i couldn't understand it because at the time we had - Whitefield, Tennent, Williams, Olarewaju, Frempah, and Smith. Can’t see a return happening anytime soon. Winfield was substituted 20 mins into his return game at Hornchurch due to injury…Park Life wrote: Sat Mar 07, 2026 7:44 pm When we originally signed Winfield i couldn't understand it because at the time we had - Whitefield, Tennent, Williams, Olarewaju, Frempah, and Smith. Whatever thread it is in these pages - all points back to Pennock being absolutely clueless. Park Life for interim manager. If he gets us to the play offs, he stays!!
Re: Ady Signs New Contract & Player Updates
Any idea what happend to that Callum Frith that we signed and sent straight out on loan to Hythe town? Seemed a very random signing.

He's only played twice for Hythe Town and was subbed after 55 minutes in his second game. He hasn't featured in their last four matches.Rixsto wrote: Wed Mar 11, 2026 8:53 pm Any idea what happend to that Callum Frith that we signed and sent straight out on loan to Hythe town?
