DFC season 2025/6 in a nutshell. Every time it’s looked as though we could go on a bit of a run we’ve lost to a Wingate & Finchley or a Potters Bar or a Burgess Hill and every time it’s felt as though the season’s over we’ve put a couple of results together or got a surprise win. The only consistent thing is utter inconsistency. Ah well, that’s football I suppose.

Well done Darts.
. I can’t get my head around it!
Re: Cheshunt v Dartford Tue 10 Mar 2026
Darts much the better side, dominated possession, but nobody willing to take the shot ... Until Eddy came on. All the huffing and puffing means nothing if you don't score. We could so easily have got less than we deserved . Nevertheless, it was a decent win and it keeps the dream alive..

That was a big win and just keeps our season alive.
Over the 90 minutes we were the better side but it was another tough watch, plenty of hard work and endeavour but very scrappy and lacking in quality (other than one moment).
I've not understood a lot of the decisions around team selection etc.this season and tonight was no different. Eddie the constant fall guy and on the bench AGAIN and we've had George left out in recent weeks and probably only selected tonight because of suspensions, just a few of the many decisions that have left me totally baffled. But we've just 8 games left now so I'll just have to go with it a bit longer and see what happens.
As for Eddie, if it wasn't for him we would not have won this game so massive credit to him for remaining professional during what must be a very frustrating season. In the current circumstances i don't think there's a cat in hells chance of him being with us next season and if he does go somewhere else, I'll be having a bet he gets 20 goals next season.
MOTM - For me between those two players, Eddie for doing what he does and scoring the winning goal and George who was assured at the back and looked a threat at corners. Can't split the two atm so will have a think on it.

I'll be honest. It feels academic now. We could possibly kick on and put a run together. But we just seem utterly mediocre now., and if we sneak into the play offs, I can't see us beating anyone. Sorry for the negativity but its just painful these last months, and an odd goal win at Cheshunt is just a statistic.

Well done Eddy, you did what you do and what we love you for. Your reward…,bench for you next game (probably)
Re: Cheshunt v Dartford Tue 10 Mar 2026
I didn’t go even though Cheshunt is only 15 minutes away but I am glad we won , Eddie scored and George played very well. As others have said this win probably extends the pain of the season a little longer.

I did think this could have been a banana skin to effectively end our season but now it prolongs our season. For a while.
i will go to Folkestone Saturday, they are already getting big crowds and it could almost be a carnival atmosphere for them.
But Chatham had over 3000 and we turned them over with a good defensive display.
Admittedly our game since has bottomed out. But you never know.
Well done the lads last night in what seems a dominant performance.
Thank goodness for Eddie.
COYD's.

We've won a game so Ady is back doing interviews.

Funny how you get an interview with Ady after the win and he mentions and thanks fans for their support and travelling YET where was his interview after last Saturdays defeat at Wingate and thanking the fans that travelled to that game to watch a dreadful performance(not that I bothered going thankfully).
Instead he gets Henley to do the awkward interview instead.
Well Done on the win Darts but I’m afraid it’s just papering over seriously big cracks.

Mark is spot on. It’s appalling. It’s terribly disrespectful to the supporters as a whole, particularly if it’s an away game to all the fans that travelled.

How about we bring Igor Tudor in for the last remaining games of the season??

Yep. The main reason I have zero respect for Pennock. Speak after every game or just f*ck off all together. (Not as I listen to him anyway!)The 5th Searcher wrote: Wed Mar 11, 2026 2:00 pm Funny how you get an interview with Ady after the win and he mentions and thanks fans for their support and travelling YET where was his interview after last Saturdays defeat at Wingate and thanking the fans that travelled to that game to watch a dreadful performance(not that I bothered going thankfully).

i don't know about Igor Tudor and keeping him where he is, that's what I've been trying to do with Mark Sweet. Off of here!!
Waste of bloody time.

Re: Cheshunt v Dartford Tue 10 Mar 2026
Much as this away victory was a reason for rejoicing, the harsh fact is that over the last five matches we have only gained points on Aveley (2pts) of the teams above us. We remain three points and ten goals adrift of the last play-off place with eight games left. I expect that we can only afford one more defeat at most and we still have to play two teams above us. We are also reliant on at least one team above us having a poor run of form at this late stage of the season.
However, there may be a positive element to this post. Four of Chathams remaining games are against teams in the top seven, the likely play-off candidates. However, they also have three matches against teams in the bottom six, the likely relegation candidates. Brentwood have three matches against top seven sides and three against bottom six sides. Aveley have two away matches against top six seven sides and two home matches against bottom six sides. We have two matches against top seven sides and four against bottom six sides. Not only do we need to win those matches, but we may need a couple of big scores to improve our disappointing goal difference.
With our away form in mind, I hope we can raise our game against the quality opponents this weekend. Hopefully we will have a balanced starting eleven.

Nobody said anything when it was Roland who did the interviews after Ramsgate, Aveley and Chatham wins. We’ve got enough reasons to bash Ade at the moment without making things up
