WATCHING THE WOMEN'S WORLD CUP WITH THE DARTS

Post by TonyDart »

FIFA Women’s World Cup quarter-finals - ENGLAND LIONESSES 2 COLOMBIA 1
Saturday 12th August 2023

How enjoyable was that! – A great win by the Lionesses after going down 1-0.on 43 minutes. The equaliser came right at the death of the first half. And then Alessia Russo scored Lionesses’ 2nd in the 62nd minute and the David Lloyd Function Room exploded with loud screams and cheering from the more than one-hundred fans and players alike who had come to experience that ‘togetherness’ feeling of supporting the Lionesses with friends and family.

A big credit to Jade and Connor for organising this event that went down really well with the fans. “Bring on more days like this,” I say.

“The result was all we could have wished for,” as some of the crowd assembled for a photo opportunity on the balcony.

It was a nice experience at David Lloyd as Rob and his staff looked after us very well with hot food available throughout the event and a well-staffed bar who kept the drinks flowing with little or no queues.

Many people stated that it had been their first trip to the complex and were most impressed with the set up and friendly staff.

So, the Lionesses march on to the semi-finals that take place on Wednesday morning, kick-off 11am UK time. .WATCH THIS SPACE!

Good luck to the Lionesses on Sunday and also to our Dartford Ladies. Dream big ladies. I think ladies football is taking great strides and is setting a fine example.
