Elephant in the bar

Post by DA Mikey »

Can we broach the subject of blinds again please?
I understand that PP rules are such that alcohol cannot be consumed within view of the pitch, but the lines are blurred in terms of exactly when this is implemented.
During the pre-season friendly against Charlton last summer, I bumped into a couple of friends at half time and watched the second half in the Princes suite, along with hundreds of others.

By comparison, the bar was closed due to persistent tomfoolery and interference with the blinds (so we understand) half an hour in to the same fixture two weeks ago. So what is the rule? Should we have not been able to watch from the bar last year? Should the blinds have been left open the other week? Is it a blanket rule for all officiated matches at PP or was there an extraordinary reason for the Charlton friendly? I think the club needs to put up signage that the blinds must not be touched with possible ejection for those who flout the rules.
