South West away trips nicely spaced out - excruciating for January. Gives me a fighting chance to get cover to make those games

Yup. Weymouth looks like a belter. Trying to tempt the missus into a fun-packed thrill-seeking weekend beano. And a 1-3 defeat playing like my old 1975 school team! :D

Years ago I would have just gone down there, straight out on the razz, pulled a right sort & stay at hers the weekend!
But unfortunately with everything drooping somewhat now I feel those days are long gone?? Iā€™m at home by 10.30 now ready for bed, with a nice cup of tea & a little round of toast!!

The Bull & Vic used to be around Ā£40 per night pre-Covid. Now it costs 4 times as much to crash out in a bloody dive.
Hotels are behaving like gamblers on a losing streak, desperately trying to win back their losses.
It'll be cheaper to find an all-night bar after an away game and catch the first train back the in the morning.
You'll have a better time than forking out Ā£150 just to spend a fews hours in a blimming bed.

Strange that we won't have a game on New Year's Day then this year. I wonder why it's moved.

Atleast the local pubs will be open after the home game versus Welling on the 30th December.
If it was New Year's Day you might be lucky to get one in before last orders, followed by 10 minutes drinking up time to throw the second pint down your neck.
And they are the nearest pubs to the ground.
50 customers handing over Ā£500 in 40 minutes.
Nice work if you can get it.
It will be interesting to see how many pubs are still in business in Dartford this time next year.

Must admit one benefit I now have in living in an over 55 retirement village, is the reciprocal arrangements with 32000 other communities around the country. I am staying in Newcastle this weekend for the Dunston match and its costing me Ā£20 per night. Just basically a simple on suite room but worth it. Going to try the same thing when we play in Plymouth and Torquay. Not many benefits to getting old but this is one of them.

As one of the younger residents though, John, is it true the female residents expect you to do their shopping and call out the bingo numbers on a Friday night? šŸ˜
