RIP - Ray Pennell

Post by DA Mikey »

Nice to see DFC jolly boys outing at H&R yesterday celebrating the life of Darts fan Ray Pennell, who was taken from us far too early in February at the age of 56. A minute’s silence was observed prior to the Dover game in Ray’s memory.

I only came to know Ray over the last couple of years, but his was always a face I recognised at DFC. He was a big music fan - particularly of prog rockers Rush - loved a good ale or three and of course watching the mighty Dartford. Ray will be dearly missed and joins a number of DFC family sadly lost this season.

RIP Ray.

In honour of Ray Pennell’s death last year, “Rayfest” will be taking place at the Growler Stop (bottom of West Hill, Dartford) on Saturday 27th April. Local band The Gambler are to showcase the day, interspersed with other acts.
There will be a good few faces from DFC there and the wretched 23/24 season will be behind us - so come along for music, ale and kinship in memory of Ray.
