Remember Braintree's "tactics" from last season on and off the pitch so when i checked earlier today and saw they'd appointed a new manager and had a good run of results i thought they must have changed their approach. How wrong was i, new manager maybe but same old "tactics" so today was a victory for football and they got exactly what they deserved. NOTHING.

As for the game, only notable event from first half was it lasted 45 mins.................

Second half we came out with more purpose, pressed higher up the pitch and they couldn't handle it and we ran out worthy winners.
Only got to see Luke's screamer just as it nestled in the back of the net as i was updating the attendance on the forum
But the third goal from Samir was great so really looking forward to seeing the highlights.
They may be unhappy with the penalty decisions but imo both were fouls and poor challenges.

As for MOTM if Samir had been on the pitch a few minutes more he would have been in contention :D :D
However, Luke again showed what a class player he is, Pierre worked his socks off and caused them problems going forward but i gave MOTM to Wynts. He had another very good game and is a bit if an unsung hero.

What a shabby, second rate bunch of spoilers are Braintree. I have no idea if they are any good at football as they made no attempt to play the game. Falling over and squealing like piglets in an abattoir every time someone got within 3 feet, constant time-wasting and non-stop whinging and whining about everything and everyone, it was very satisfying to see them get absolutely nothing from the game. Overcoming Braintree's masterclass in the dark arts was a very different challenge for the Darts, but once again our lads rose to the challenge to grind out what was in the end, another convincing victory.

Jordan Wynter's presence as the holding midfielder has played a massive part in contributing to this run of success and has allowed his teammates the freedom to express themselves going forward. The energy and fitness in the team is very impressive and Braintree just couldn't live with it. My MOTM vote went to Pierre Fonkou who along with Luke Coulson, has really raised the bar in recent weeks. Pierre's work-rate today was off the chart. No complaints about Bonzo's dismissal, two justified yellows, but if the result was ever in doubt, bringing on a class player like Samir put that idea to bed.

Well done Dowse and the lads, you've got something special going on.

When was the last time a team down to 10 men scores 3 times ???
How about https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DBAcaMqNyO0&t=580s

and the final score was 4-1 and Charlie scored a penalty...
I remember that like it was yesterday , there was so many similarities between that and todays game even had a looping volley scored . Nice to see some old faces playing as well from 10 years ago , who remembers Bonner and Sheringham lol

Am I right in thinking that Steve King was the manager of Farnborough at that time ?

Not much to add to all that. Tom should have known better than to put himself in that position. However, on a yellow that he knew suspends him for one game, does he now get two games banned? But the ref? What a bell end. Three innocuous challenges get yellows and he continually chose not to take any action against persistent dissent and ‘surrounding’ by Brainless players at three of our goals. Absolute useless lady part! At half time I had no idea how we were going to break down such a cheating bunch of tw@ts straight outta the Hungerford College of Anti Football Kuntery. Cue another halftime masterstroke from Dowse. Coulson gets my MOTM vote. Such was the performance of the team, again, I’m guessing that the MOTM vote will be quite divisive. Just a note for Chris Palmer, following his usual great match report, Samir’s pen was hardly ‘smashed’ in, more of a roll. If that’s ‘smashed,’ what was Wall’s last week Chris? 😂

I wrote at the beginning of the season how pleased I was when it was announced that Luke Coulson had signed for the Darts. His name cropped up regularly in match reports in the NLP when he was playing for Bromley and I saw him play for them up at Tranmere, when he impressed me in that game too. So delighted that he is now performing as he is, along with so many other players in the squad, who have all played their parts in putting together such an impressive run.

It may be the case that the Darts have played the most matches tn the division to date, and teams such as Ebbsfleet, H&W, Chelmsford and until yesterday, even Braintree, could overtake us if they won, or win, their games in hand. But to be where we are now is truly impressive, and with a squad that is looking strong in depth. Our recent results v Braintree have not been good, so it was a perfect time to get the positive result yesterday, and even more impressive with only 10 men.

Please keep it going Darts!! Yet another excellent commentary too. Everything is so enjoyable at present. The only thing missing for me is the live action and hopefully soon, when rail services become more reliable, I will be able to travel down to PP for a game.

One thing that deserves a mention was the Braintree keeper who stamped on Connor and then ran his studs down his back when he was laying on the floor in the 6 yard box . It was completely intentional the dirty bastard

One of the many improvements with our squad is that we are not relying on one or two players to score the goals.
Dowsons management is also impressive, after the anti football 1st half we were so much better at dealing with the negativity of our opponents in the 2nd period.
To score 3 times with 10 men shows belief and confidence
Braintree came with a plan to get a 0-0 or nick it. But as soon as we scored they had no plan B.
Well done Darts ...football was the big winner in the end.

What an ugly side to play against, with shirt-pulling, pushing, falling at the least touch, and whinging to the ref. And Braintree chosen for the first televised NLS match!? How enjoyable to see them get their just desserts.
A difficult first half with few chances at either end, with defenders on top; the nearest being a sliced near own goal. A transformation after the interval, with more energy and pace, particularly from Pierre. Maybe fortunate with the penalties, but a sublime looped goal from Luke, followed by an excellent team move with short quick passes from several Darts, playing rings around their defenders for Samir to finish them off in his late sub skilful cameo. Good performances all round with Jack and Maxwell prominent, and Jordan making crucial tackles, making a difficult MOM choice, but went for Luke for the game-changer goal when down to 10 men. A happy drive home.

As already mentioned the 1st half was absolutely dire but 2nd half a totally different Dartford team came out and started playing on the deck football to which Braindead just couldn’t handle it.

To score not only 1 but 3 goals with only 10 men and win 4-1 just shows the character and fight in the team that Dowse has developed within the players, superb stuff.

Each and every player (except Bonner for obvious reasons) stepped their game up 2nd half and fought for each other and to win every ball possible even with the shithousary tactics from the opposition and piss poor refereeing.

It was another tough decision for my MOTM as so many had excellent games again. Max Statham, Connor Essam, Luke Coulson, Pierre Fonkou, Jack Smith, Josh Johnson but for me Jordan Wynter was superb in that holding central midfield position. He won every ball his way and was solid as a rock.

Well Done to Dowse, his back room team and of course all the players. I’m loving this DFC train ride.

Special thanks to the back-room team that arranged the two-minute remembrance yesterday. I felt that the addition of the last post playing up to the end of the silence made it a fitting tribute. Great that the fans of both teams showed their respect. We will remember them.

Just watched the highlights, I'm sorry that 2nd yellow for Bonner is a disgraceful decision. It's no more than a shoulder to shoulder and not a bookable offence. Even the linesman didn't even give the foul and he's got the best view of it.

And then their manager has the balls to say the ref got stuff wrong for his team.

All I can say is that we got justice in the end after the Brainless reputation of play acting when tackled with the writhing in agony and protesting constantly to the referee time wasting along with constant shoving in the backs and shirt pulling tactics that they got away with early during the first half things then changed.
Once ahead from the penalty they had to make up for the time wasting and it exposed their inability to do much else other than the above with very little football from them and we took full advantage with two very good goals and the penalty at the end rubbing it in so softly stroked in rather than a powerful shot.
The criticism of the referee I agree with but he did award us two penalties which on another day might not have be given .
My question to fans is did they see what Charlie did to be booked so early on as from behind the goal we didn't think the referee or linesman saw the incident and he booked Charlie only after the Brainless player protested ?

If their manager claimed that the ref got stuff wrong for his team, he is dead right. There was constant shirt pulling and two-handed pushing in the back by his defenders that the ref totally ignored. How their captain did not see yellow, at a minimum, for the push right in front of the referee after the second penalty decision is beyond belief. Also, the number two for kicking the ball off the penalty spot after it had been placed. The referee gave them so much slack that they managed to hang themselves.
