Re: Dartford Players of The Past
Just spotted this on the Isthmian news website:-
Tilbury's Lewis Manor, who has already become a fan favourite despite only joining the club in the summer, unfortunately picked up a serious injury in midweek, and a fund raising effort has been launched on his behalf.
Teammate Lewis Clark has set up a Just Giving page, explaining:
‘As some of you may know, Lewis Manor unfortunately suffered tears to his ACL, MCL, LCL and meniscus during Tilbury’s replay with Brantham Athletic on Tuesday 3rd September. Lew currently works as a carpenter, meaning this injury will prevent him from working during the recovery period. We wanted to put together this page to give Lew a little financial help during this difficult period.’
It's a nice gesture, and you can help by heading here. [a link via Tilbury's own website]

Heard about this in Malta last week from a Charlton fan who has a few links with DFC, including playing vets with Danny Dafter. Small world.
Best of luck to Lewis with his recovery after this horrific injury.

Doing the rounds, should be back at Dartford next season. But he obviously felt himself too good for Chatham.
Re: Dartford Players of The Past
Statham NOT good enough even for Chatham and will go at Welling as Manager having a clear out there after 6-0 drubbing yesterday ALSO Enfield WON at Bath , Superstar Knobhead [ Membhard] non starter on bench , says it all ,Wall still picking his wages up via the bench at H&R
ONLY decent player [ other than our Academy lads] , [Caulson] having a good season at WSM as for the rest ????????????

Where's he been?
Re: Dartford Players of The Past
He decided to sign for Tonbridge to stay at NLS level but really he was developing quite well in the Darts squad [ without being 1st name on the sheet] and should have stayed with us as he is a tricky left footed right winger , shame another one in too much of of a hurry and smelling a few extra £££££ notes !!!!!
Wouldnt mind seeing him back ???????????

Thanks Duke. I agree with you on that. He was tricky but too big for his boots on his decision to stay in the NLS.

Unfortunately not the big things predicted for him so far, hopefully his career will have an upward trajectory in the future. The Futures White wrote: ↑Tue Oct 01, 2024 4:02 pm Cameron Brodie has been signed by Isthmian League North side Tilbury.
Matt Godden set a goal up and scored another after coming on as a substitute for Charlton at Bristol Rovers. Not that long ago that The Gas were playing against us at PP

It was a good game too considering the
conditions.
A 2-2 draw fought out on the beach.

Re: Dartford Players of The Past
I am currently reading Greavsie (see Football Reading Books posting) and have just reached the late 1950's and Tony Nicholas has just signed for Chelsea and for the older fans he will be remembered for signing for Dartford just prior the the 1966-67 season and was a centre forward and top scorer for two seasons before leaving us only to return later.
