After 3 consecutive defeats at Princes Park, the non-travelling Darts fans have had little to cheer about and to say Dowse and the team need a win on Saturday is a bit of an understatement. Hampton & Richmond have made a worse start than us AND we have home advantage, so it's a game where we will once again start as favourites, at least, in the eye of the bookmakers. Nevertheless, as was the case last Saturday, I am not particularly confident and feel that the game could go either way.

Whilst I believe that our current squad is not strong enough to mount a promotion challenge, we do have some very good players and if everyone is on their game, this match is certainly winnable. It's a long season and with 7th place being enough for a play-off spot, there is lots of time left and things could yet improve. We just need to hang on in there around that mid-table area until reinforcements arrive and join the battle. I just hope there ARE reinforcements coming and that when they arrive they are proper combat marines and not just a few game villagers with pitchforks and pointed sticks.

Here's hoping that the team rise to the occasion on Saturday and romp to victory. Nothing would please me more than for Dowse and the current squad to show me that I don't know what I'm talking about. COYD

If you take into account our form towards the end of last season and the beginning of this one, including being on the wrong end of yet another FA Cup shock, then I'm not sure being at home is an advantage anymore.

I’m not holding my breath. Nor for Tuesday against Eastbourne. But, the way we’re going, it looks like we’re gonna win one and lose one.

I'd probably take that at the moment. At least that would keep us in contention for a late surge.

And it’s better than two draws!

Two home games we should be looking at maximum points from these and if we do we should be in the playoff position which we can build from that and hopefully more confidence in Dowse will follow

I used to keep thinking along those lines every time I step into Princes Park. Now I have absolutely no idea what to expect. 🤦‍♂️

These are the two easiest games esp Hampton, they candidates for relegation. The red card not being revoked from Saturday is disgusting , it was a brilliant tackle and showed commitment, he looks thru YouTube a decent player

Oh cripes Lenny, I'm worried enough as it is without you giving them stuff to put up on the dressing room wall. LOL

Good morning everyone. I have been away, we've lost a Queen (Bless her) and gained a King. We've won at Dover, annoyed with that one as it's just down the road and are already out of the FACup, even more annoyed.
Looking at the highlights, very few. I thought that even with a struggling team we should have beaten Beckenham. With which ever manager and squad we should have been professional enough, being two divisions higher, to see them off. Although I did see that they had Louis Theophanos in their side, even if he is at the arse end of his career.
I won't comment on players, not my place. having read the debate on here I tend to steer clear. But one sentence from Rambo that stood out in my mind was was 'keep Carruther's, get rid of the rest'. I would tend to think also of Coulson could be added to that short list.
At the end of last season I thought there would have been a mass exodus only to find that the first signings were very disappointing. But of course that was under a new manager who was having to scramble to get 11 players.
The business of giving 10 games to see where we stand is a solid justification. When struggling at the foot of the table and taking on SK, within ten games we were barreling up the table and on the edge of the play-offs. That doesn't make me a Royalist. I liked Steve a lot, but you have to go with the Board as regards the safety of our club.
Dowse was not the first name in my head, in fact, he wasn't in my head at all. But we've got to give him our support. Whether I like the way he goes about things or not.
Hampton will not be a push-over regardless of LL's help in telling us how to run the club. Unfortunately I won't be attending for this one either. I'm not pushing myself these days and that is not because of the way things are at this moment.
I hope for a win one way or the other.

Tomorrow we face one of Dowson's former teams. When this game pops up I always think of the Easter game played out in the absolute mud bath and Alfie Pavey's last minute winner!

Anyway here's the match preview https://puredfc.co.uk/dartford-v-hampto ... -borough-2

Was going to post the video of that muddy match, but can't find it. Instead here's a link to the wonderful photo's captured by Carol White-Griffiths and Peter White if you're feeling nostalgic! https://photodiva.zenfolio.com/p1067761661

I love watching highlights like that, just find the same thought enters my head every time:

‘We really ought to have gone up that season…’

The first of 3 must win games so hopefully we can put in a performance that shows we deserve to be a playoff contender. Our goals conceded have been very silly with most of then coming from set pieces, hopefully a clean sheet tomorrow!

I am surprised we haven't seen more incoming this week, with Frimpong suspended and assume recalled by Wimbledon as well as Luke's hamstring injury we are becoming very light on players. I was hoping/expecting at least 2 new signings excluding the one we announced today.

No midweek interview either with Dowse which is a shame as I was hoping we could see what his thoughts were a few days after the FA Cup where the emotions have settled a little

I just hope that we can put in a performance because to be honest (as I only go to home games) I have been completely underwelmed.
The Beckenham game was a disaster but more worryingly they were the better side imo.
Dowson has a good track record and hopefully we can improve because at home the Darts are not a good watch at the moment.

Hopefully a decent crowd today with no Premiership or Championship games and with a few local league teams away.
