Happy that I was wrong with my pre match feelings, it's a good thing I'm not a gambling man.

Didn't go and with no commentary I look forward to the reports from those in attendance.

Onto the cup on Saturday, a nice run would be welcome

Clumsy game. Hessentaler will be gone if Dovre get done by an under-strength Ebbsfleet side on Saturday.

Kudos to our defence and midfield tonight who kept any threat - mainly from Wanadio - at bay. I would say that Murtagh spread himself about well and distributed enough to stake my MOTM vote. Although we did enough to win the game, Dover have big problems on and off the pitch and could be in serious trouble without changes come Christmas. Ridiculous decision to segregate tonight, seemingly based on the behaviour of their own fans at away games so far this season. By far and away the most awkward and unwelcoming experience we’ve had since the likes of Barnet and Woking in the past, but hey ho, if they want to bury themselves up their own pathetic backsides then that’s their choice. 660 odd attendance in this fixture says it all.

Well done Dowse and the lads COYD

I think we scored three cracking goals but due to the segregation all of them were at the opposite end to where the Darts supporters were forced to watch the match, so I’ll have to wait until we see the match highlights to confirm the quality of the strikes. The one blemish was the abysmal way we allowed Dover to take a short corner and score whilst half our boys were still debating the referee’s decision and not paying attention. Anyhow that aside we pretty much managed to stroll through this game and didn’t even have to threaten their goal second half to secure three points. Some decent performances and the new fella looked lively when he came on for Samir.

As for Dover? Well they pretty much made their hell hole of a ground an even more unpleasant watch than normal with a three hundred mile route march to the away segregated area. It would have been nice of them to check if the ALL street lights actually worked as it was obviously pitch black when we departed the crap hole to return to our cars via the north face of the Eiger. Why segregate when we’ve played them in the past with 2000 in the ground and never had a problem? It certainly doesn’t look good for them on the playing front. Probably the worst Dover side I’ve seen in 45 years and they’ll be securing a second relegation if they carry on like that.

Delighted for Dowse and the boys for picking up three precious points on the road. Now let’s start our FA Cup campaign with a win against Beckenham.

What a joke this Club are and I actually feel sorry for the Dover fans [ albeit reducing in number ] who pay £16 to watch their [ useless] team , we won easily but we can only beat whats put up against us
Jonty and I arrived 5mins late but were escorted by a security man [ after a discussion with 2 others] from the Visitors entrance [ after the pleasure[??] of paying £16 and £14 ] to the other side of the ground that only 660 bothered to turn up for - bureaucracy gone mad !!!!
As for the game we did enough 1st half and scored 3 really good goals and for 44 mins looked very comfortable but in the 45th minute our defence ambled back for a corner , they took a quick short one and slammed the ball home whilst we were still half asleep-, bet Dowse had something to say about that !!!!!!!!!!!
Did we trouble their keeper 2nd half , I dont think so , guess we played a [ planned] containing game but still needed our keeper to make 2 decent stops
Cant fault the effort and enjoyed Charlie Sheringhams contribution [ and the 2 verbals he gave team mates ] in his 20 min sub appearance , surely he must start on Saturday ?

Will I go to Dover next season , probably not especially as they may well be in the Ryman Premier F.....g H..e So !!

Great result, and a much needed win. The stat that jumped out was the 660 attendance. Dover's stay in the National league and last seasons collapse seems to have done them some real damage. Still. Onwards and upwards for us.

An excellent result with what looked to be three good goals as we were penned in at the opposite end of the ground due to segregation.
What a farce before the game as we parked up walked over halfway round the rugby pitch to go to what we thought was the normal entrance to the ground, but no stewards sent us back where we had come from to the far end of the rugby pitch then up a very steep path to eventually arrive at the turnstiles for away fans due to segregation with The 5th Searcher paying £16 and poor old me as a concession £14 then a walk along a panel lined path to arrive in a small area of terracing to watch the match.
My last visit to The Crabble so inhospitable with no atmosphere but we won and that is the main thing.
A very good first half performance with the goals well taken but as others have said to concede a goal right at the end of the first half with the defence all asleep as Dover took a very quick short corner which allowed them to score whilst we just stood around still trying to think about marking their players.
Second half we contained them with very few serious attempts to try and score and at the end with a win under our belt the fans had the task of walking back in the dark trying to see what we were walking on to get to the cars and then the final Dover insult they had closed the road to get back home and we had to use a diversionary route. (I half expected to be directed onto a ferry to get home but we made it in the end  )
Well done Darts and now on to Saturday and the FA Cup where we will I'm sure welcome any visiting fans with a short walk from the car park and access to the bar before the game.

Great win last night, That should give some confidence into Saturday’s game which could be another Sudbury banana skin!

But Dover’s ground!! What a way to treat your visitors. A march around the rugby field to a long steep path up to the turnstiles (£14 concession a joke) and then herded like cattle through a narrrow fenced in path to a small terrace. Seating cost another £1.50 if you chose to use is.

Coming out in the dark was ok until you reached the bottom of the steep path, when it was pitch black and very uneven ground. Would Dover FC be liable if there was an accident - I doubt it.

Can definitely say that, along with Maidstone, this will be my last visit to this ground where a club treats its visiting supporters so poorly. They need to take a leaf out of Billericay’s book.

Had a look at the Dover Forum to say they are NOT happy is an understatement BUT the post that really sums up Dover is the one where they didnt provide food for Dartford [or any away team afters] the match , IF this is true then they are a disgrace , the spitefULL response is to do the same when they come to us but we are above that and no doubt will treat their players with respect !!!!

Like many others I suspect I will NOT be going there anymore !!!!

Dover are a poor team but on a wet Tuesday night 60 miles away by the coast you still got to turn up and play and earn the right. We did that well.

You’re right I went on their forum and they are calling for Hess to go and also about not turning up for games so Uncle Jim feels it in the pocket!

Might stick a fiver on them to get relegated!

I did hear last night that the return fixture at PP on Easter Monday will be segregated at the request of Kent Police due to the behaviour of some of their fans at away games recently.

Really, what a stupid idea, just arrest the trouble makers and give them bans. Can’t be much more simpler than that!
Solves the problem once and for all….

First game I've missed this season and sounds like i made the right call. I feel so sorry for those darts fans that made the trip to be treated so badly. What an earth is wrong with that club. Do they want to be a pariah club? The North Korea of non-league football? It sounds more like an episode from game of thrones than an away trip. They have well and truly replaced the odious Maidstone as the club we all love to hate.

First chance i've had to post after the bloody ridiculous diversion sent us half way round Kent.......

Dover started on the front foot but after about 10 minutes we settled down and they never really threatened us again until the one lapse of concentration just before HT when they scored. However we had already won the game by then with three well taken goals and other than a couple of saves form Joe in the second half we ran out very comfortable winners.

A better performance from us and a much needed win to give everyone a lift, well done lads.

MOTM for me was Tom.B with another solid performance.

As for Dover, must admit i had them down as a very good bet for the play offs but on last nights showing they may be in for a very tough season.
As for the arrangements for away fans, i think others have covered that very well........

Coach did the same, all the way past Pfizer (Sandwich) and up to Minster to pick up the Thanet Way. Was left wondering why we didn’t just take the M20, perhaps there was a valid reason but getting in gone midnight is so pre-Covid.
