Not particularly confident going onto this game and i am worried what might happen.
Hopefully Dowse will get a reaction this week from the players and the fact it's a local derby may bring out the best in them but recent signs are not encouraging.

I will be there supporting the manager and team as usual and hope that the good players we have find their form and can give us a decent performance.

Have to agree that a good performance and result is much needed against our neighbours, who have made a pretty impressive start.

Things have clearly improved at Welling this season. I never thought of them as a particularly forward thinking club..... but in fairness, they did show Kingy the door a good year or so before we did 😆😆😆

We all know what ‘must win’ games look like. But this, and Dover are MUST MUST wins. 6 points. Nothing else will do.

Also worried about this game and they have a couple of ex players who might want to prove a point

I heard tonight that Azeez has a possible injury from Saturdays game which could keep him out for a few weeks.

Good news is that Davide Rodari and Chas Sheringham fit to play up front , will be a handfull and Sami back in midfield !!!!!!!!!!!!

That's good to hear too! (from our point of view - wouldn't want him to have any permanent/serious damage, just enough to last a week :D )

Given that we did the treble over them last season, smashing in 10 goals in the 2 league games and winning the KSC final at their gaff, I would imagine they are going to be up for this game. They've made a decent start so we really need to get our act together if we are to stop the rot. All our games have been closely contested so a bit more clinical in front of goal and no silly mistakes on Saturday please lads. It's Welling, not Barcelona, so let's get back on track with a win. Semi-final wasn’t it? 🧐

It’s understandable that Spike is a little confused as we played in two Kent Senior Cup finals last season and multiple rounds of the London Senior Cup; chuck in King’s 49 players and even those supporters of more junior years 😉 would struggle to keep up 🤣

I'm often a little confused these days, but yes, I meant to say semi-final. Either way, I'm sure the Bus Stop will be relishing the chance to get one over on us. Somewhat surprisingly I think, the bookies still have us as favourites to win. I'm not too confident myself, but I take comfort in the knowledge that whilst I'm prone to errors, the bookies don't get a lot wrong. COYD

Stefan Payne also seems to pop up on the Welling scoring list and often mentioned in match reports.

He spent nearly two recent seasons at Tranmere and always put in a good shift whenever I saw him, so not surprised he is scoring 2 divisions lower now. Will need to be watched.

But hopefully with our own front line injury situation improving, the Darts will find the back of the net. But last season's result count for nothing now, and this will be a tough game!!

Dowse, Tom B and all will know the importance of this one. For several reasons. They just won’t allow a defeat. But a draw is no good either. I think it’s gonna be a belter! It’s got a cup-tie mentality to it.

As much as anything else, we’ve only won once at home so far!
With Welling going strong, the gate should be pretty good.

I reckon our strongest side is:

Wilks
Wynter Essam Bonner Odaudu
Coulson Carruthers Allen Campbell
Rodari Fonkeu

Not the easiest line-up to compile. What occurs to me is that there isn’t a stand out performer who gets in the team without a moment’s consideration (T-Bon and Carruthers closest).
Murtagh, Sheringham, Wall and Roberts ought to represent decent firepower in reserve, Statham looks okay, not seen much from Lovatt. Obviously Young in goal if Wilks still out.

Let me know if I’ve omitted anyone, we do have a far more slender squad this season!

I guess that there is a strong possibility that this game will now not take place on Saturday.

Today is a very sad day for our great nation.

Oduado is out for 2 weeks after facial surgery = info from Dowse

Sheringham played well at Chippenham and has a track record of scoring goals and leading the line , should start !!!!
