Good god I see that Isaac Newton was on the Cheshunt bench , there’s always room for an aged mathematician in a squad

After watching that game today (didn’t get to any of the pre-season games) have to say I’m once again enthused and looking forward to seeing how this season develops.

To pick a MoM out of that team performance is hard! Rodari was busy throughout (not sure he lost a header), the midfield unit was excellent and the back 4 solid. I really like the look of Fankeu and took his two goals today well. I’m giving my vote to Luke Allen for an unsung type of performance - he brought us energy throughout.

It’s great to be back at PP. So many comments about the positivity Dowse has brought to us. Can’t wait for Tuesday nights game now.

We seemed to have controlled and created many chances during the 90 mins ,just need to put a few more away to save any last minute flutters , team is already developing into a Dowse style team, very hard to play against and solid !!!!!
Looking forward to tuesday which will be a tough , physical game , bet Alex Wall would enjoy it !!!!!!!!

Enjoyable game and must have been tough in that heat. Good to win back to back games and hope we can continue on Tuesday. MoM I ended up giving to Samir but I did consider Connor and Pierre and very seriously Sam who did a great job at left back.

Cheshunt started the game well but after about 10-15 minutes we got on top and should have gone in more than 1 nil up at HT with the chances we had.
Second half we pretty much controlled and other than a late consolation for Cheshunt ran out comfortable winners.
Played some good football at times today and we've had a good start to the season but i think we have much tougher tests ahead starting on Tuesday night against Havant.

Still think the squad is a few players light with a 46 game season plus cup matches so hopefully Dowse can get some more in soon.

MOTM between Samir and Pierre with Samir just edging it for me.

Special mention also to the Referee who I thought had a very good game!! Used common sense when needed, I can’t remember seeing him before at PP but any statto’s out there may prove me wrong??

He was due a good game!! We’ve seen him plenty of times away from PP, more recently away at Billericay late last season. Imo he’s had some stinkers but agree, he was okay yesterday. What I like about him is he referees with a smile on his face, gives decisions positively (whether they’re correct or not) and he has bants with the fans!

I got the impression that he was following this season's new guidelines on ignoring challenges that would previously have been blown up for fouls and on letting the game flow as freely as possible.

He is part of Dowson’s coaching staff
Thanks for that , I can’t believe it, I watch the sky matches he covers on mute then he turns up on my phone 🙁
According to Wikipedia Martin Tyler has worked as a coach for a number of teams managed by Alan Dowson. In 2005, he joined Walton & Hersham and has since worked with Dowson at Kingstonian and Hampton & Richmond Borough. In May 2018, he followed Dowson to National League club Woking, a team he has supported since he was young. Following the departure of Dowson in late February 2022, Tyler also opted to leave the club, concluding a four-year spell with the Surrey-based side.

An excellent result and a good win that should have shown more goals for us in the first half had we taken our chances and just a shame to concede a goal so late in the game.
For those of us behind the goal to the right watching the passing and moves to create the second goal were brilliant and I just hope the video will do it justice for those watching elsewhere.
Kev has managed to film the goals as usual well done for catching both and the moves especially as filming from the left hand side of the goal

Good interview with Pierre whose comments epitimises the ethos that Dowse wants the Darts squad to have , attitude is a great thing and this squad has it !!!!!!!!!!!!
