I remember Christian as a player and a very good one at that. Talks a good game as well. explains things with no umming and arring. I like him.

Enjoyed the away day (always a nice place to visit), despite train delays home because of football supporters! Sunderland at Bristol City? Good all round performance as others have said and summed up well in Christian's interview.

First half uneventful until Bath attacks meant some sustained defence in last few minutes, and survived a loud penalty shout and several corners. We were combining quite well without troubling the keeper.

Second half shaped better with Luke Allen boosting attacking midfield and Sam dropping back to left-back, although Sam showed good touches all the game winning tackles and he has a useful long throw. Defence very strong and Tom or Conor would have been MOM, but for Pierre's explosive goal changing the game in our favour; it seemed to come out of nowhere. Then he was in the right place to force what looked like an own goal. Encouraging start.

Great win! Enthused by the two post-match interviews by Jolley and Wilks. Team spirit and motivation sounds very good. Interesting that the lads travelled down to the West Country on Friday night. Great move!

Very much looking forward to getting back to PP for competitive football this coming Saturday. Now very excited!!

So great to catch up with so many old friends at Bath yesterday - can't believe that it is 7 years since I moved down to the West Country.

Great goal to set us on our way. Solid performance at the back, team well organised but until the goal went in I wasn't sure where the spark would come from to create something. When Alex Wall came on it was clear that he is behind everyone else in preparation but hopefully he will provide the thrust we need up front. For a first competitive match of the season it was a promising start.

See you all again in a fortnight at Taunton in a fortnight's time!!!

Jerry Gill interview:-

Apparently it's a FACT if they'd got a penalty first half they would have scored it and won the game

Riveting first half, went to sleep after going 2 up on a couple of occasions. Well done Pierre on the first goal and to some extent, the second. :)

Fantastic result , tho cost me a few quid! Great finishes, tho thought they had a good penalty shout. Bath are no great shakes , but to have the money to stay at a hotel night before will only make team spirit stronger, and that is worth 25 points a season. If Dowse gets the cash to get some players who know the ropes , this maybe a much better team than o thought. Chesant are whipping boys, Havant, worthing will give a clearer picture but a great start

Erm Cheshunt beat Hampton 3-2. That’s being pinned on their wall on Saturday.

Great result, good to see Pierre get two, long season. Onto the next one.
