The Leach/Towersey Memorial Shield Thread 2021/22

The Leach/Towersey Memorial Shield was created in July 2006 when it was decided to hold a regular vote for ‘Man of the Match’ after each competitive match. It was originally named the Babs Leach Memorial Shield after Dartford Football Club Life President Fred Leach’s wife who passed away.

In 2009, the decision was taken to rename the shield to the Leach/Towersey Memorial Shield in honour of former director and regular Pure DFC reader, John Towersey who lost his battle with cancer.

If someone wants to take over the scoring that's fine by me.

The way it (looked to me) was worked out in the previous forum, was:

Match 1

Player A gets 10 votes *** MOTM
Player B gets 8 votes
Player C gets 2 votes

Match 2

Player A gets 2 votes
Player B gets 20 votes *** MOTM
Player C gets 6 votes

Match 3

Player A gets 5 votes
Player B gets 9 votes *** MOTM
Player C gets 2 votes

That would be:

2 MOTM
Player B - 20
Player B - 9


1 MOTM
Player A - 10


0 MOTM
Player C - 10 (2+6+2)
Player B - 8 (8)
Player A - 7 (5+2)

I did it just with a simple:

MOTM count = the amount of times they won man of the match
And then the points were the amount of votes (like goal difference?) they got so it would be (using your example):

I understand what the premise was now, to illustrate not only how many MOTM awards had gone to each player, but also the amount of votes in each instance of that player getting the award. I think the running total of votes added cumulatively will be easier to update and interpret.
