SCANDALOUS, ABSOLUTELY SCANDALOUS!

Post by Ajaxman DFC »

This season's League Cup Final. And we'll never forget the farce centred around last season's final which as we all know never got played. Because the powers that be couldn't be bothered.
Well, how about this. But first of all I wish Bromley all the best in their League Cup Final versus Saltdean at the Gallagher Stadium on Sunday.
But Bromley didn't win their semi-final. They lost 3-1 at home to Brentford. And despite altering the result to a home walkover all the team sheets along with the goal scorers are still up there to be viewed on the London & South East Regional League's website. I've taken screen shots incase they try and shred any evidence of the game taking place at all. Or is it a deliberate ploy to wind us up.
Brentford fielded an illegible player during the game. So what did the league do? Well, the same as any competent league would do. Award a place in the final to the losing semi-finalist.
So what was the difference between this year and the previous one after Millwall Lionesses were beaten, in their semi-final, by Fulham who also fielded an illegible player?
But ofcourse we know don't we? We know and the whole bloody world is going to know.
This time round it's the apple in the League and it's officials eye. Saltdean United are the finalists in waiting. How disrespectful is that towards us? Yet they can't be seen upsetting Saltdean can they? Ooooh no.
This Sunday, while the final is taking place, we'll be contesting what is really a promotion semi-final at Meadowbank. And I have no confidence in the officiating of both of our fixtures with Dorking followed by Saltdean. Both games are attracting outside attention and the performances of officials during those games will be monitored closely.
Based on the handling of both League Cup Finals in particular, I'm in no doubt the L&SERL, for some reason beknown to them, have it in for our club with game changing decisions endlessly going against us, and I defy them to prove otherwise. Because at the end of the day it's the innocent, the players, who suffer. Like they did when conceding a dubious injury time penalty away to Brentford a few weeks ago, denying them all three points. Even the home bench were embarrassed by the referee's decision that day.

I was briefly allowed to view posts on Brentford's Griffin Park Grapevine for no more than 60 seconds this morning. Gary Alen, a respected commentator IMO, came to my defence after someone posted something derogatory about me which was uncalled for. Gary quite rightly pointed out that I have always been respectful towards Brentford.
Unfortunately, I have been unable to personally thank Gary for his support due to being banned from the site two weeks after our 2-2 draw.
Any criticism was clearly aimed at the officials and now the recent handling of this year's league cup final which, unlike last year is going ahead, just rubs more salt into the wounds for our team. At no point have I been disrespectful to Brentford's team. Quite the opposite actually, saying only positive things about them.
But that didn't prevent me from being unceremoniously blocked without explanation or chance of reply.
Even Fulham didn't do that and I criticised them no end. What they did do was engage and debate which I respect them for if nothing else.
I would like to know the thinking behind the GPG's decision. If the site isn't open to views from other clubs that's very sad. It would be like us operating a segregation policy the next time the Bees visit us. Which will hopefully be in the National League.
By getting banned from an otherwise well run forum, is this Brentford's idea of diversity and inclusion providing you don't disagree with their views by sticking the narrative? Which is counter productive and leads to self-isolation by silencing debate.
Personally I prefer to hear the opinions of other fans, making new friends and contacts. It's part of what makes football what is.
So if you're reading this Gary by all means private message me. You're more than welcome.

We have known for a long time about the shambolic and unprofessional way the L&SERL is run, so no real surprise about the League Cup final and the constantly changing fixtures. Why is the final being played on a Sunday while the league is still not finished? I recall Dartford FC Women stuffing Saltdean 5-1on a Thursday evening. Fulham managed to take their league campaign in to the middle of May, just as Saltdean are this season. The match officials have a difficult job to do and not everyone will agree with all of their on-field decisions. Without them, matches wouldn't be played, but quite honestly, as you alluded to, some decisions are beyond belief.
Mood in the Dartford FC Women’s squad is very positive, expectations and belief are very high and I know our girls will show the dedication, professionalism and desire to clinch the league title.
