New Manager
I would be more than happy if we went down the Samir route as manager. If he wants to go into the managing and coaching side of football why not give him a chance. With the level he has previously played, I would expect him to have contact knowledge of contemporaries at championship level academies where he could sell the club to those youngsters being released. And also, contemporary experienced players who may be looking at extending their playing days at a club with good facilities and fan base.
It would also enable him to pursue a career in barbering along side.

Re: New Manager
IMO we need an experienced manager at this level at least, with a record of success and who is a strong leader.

Carruthers - no.
Bonner - no. (Not yet)
Ass kicker for me! (Well, not for me but for DFC!)
Re: New Manager
I'd rather have a ar****le whose good at his job than a "nice guy" who makes excuses.
As for an ex player, i'd be very wary as this smacks of jobs for the boys for me.

Re: New Manager
I would move heaven and earth to get coyle back who has gone away and done great things at whitstable and I think is going be a great manager. Get him now while you possibly ( quite why he would come to Dartford at this juncture I can’t really say?!) could because he is going places you feel!

Re: New Manager
What about Ben Greenhaigh currently player/manager at Margate. I thought he was a decent player for us until Steve King decided to get rid of him. I believe he is also Dartford academy coach so he should know Dartford FC aspirations and limitations.
Re: New Manager
Someone proven, not with potential.
Re: New Manager
I agree with Kent C, we need someone who is proven and has won promotion at this level or the next level up.
Re: New Manager
Some of the rumours and suggestions being mentioned are nuts imo.
With all due respect, just check the managerial record of some of them

Re: New Manager
I haven't seen any actual rumours apart from Aveleys rivals winding them up saying their manager is on his way to us
Re: New Manager
But if you’re referring to Coyle & Greenhalgh, I agree. Big NoPark Life wrote: Fri May 01, 2026 11:42 am Some of the rumours and suggestions being mentioned are nuts imo.

Re: New Manager
The fact we have underachieved the last few seasons and people on here want to bring managers with either
a) Little to no experience
b) Poor recent record
Will then be the same ones moaning next season when we are pondering around mid table struggling to get in playoffs again.
We need someone with experience and a good record in recent times. We also need someone that will not struggle for contacts around the divisions as our recruitment the last few seasons has been pretty poor.
Carruthers = Love him as a player but no experience.
Bonner = See above
Hakan = Big No. Failed at Dulwich in the same division and is arrogant for what he has achieved.
Coyle = Failed already here. Now managing 2 levels below.
Greenhalgh = The only name I've seen mentioned that I wouldn't be opposed to, but still think if the board have ambition like they say they do then we need to go for someone better.

If the budget isn't a problem and Irving hasn't lied in his press release then no reason why we can't persuade the Aveley or Brentwood (should they miss out on promotion) managers to take the job. With respect to both clubs the facilities we have here are much better than what they have.
The man I wanted before Pennock was Harrop and he would be top of my list, however would be very surprised if he dropped to this level.
Re: New Manager
Gonna throw a name into the hat here, he’s managed at this level & the leagues above, doesn’t take any crap from the players , likes to play good attacking football………….Neil (Smudger) Smith?
Recently left Crawley as assistant (so immediately available) ex Bromley & Cray W Manager!!
I think he’ll be a good fit for Dfc!!
