Was the site hacked momentarily? My bookmark went to an actual darts page. Yes, thedarts.eu

When I log onto the Forum I am getting the following and have to hit a re-load button at the bottom of the screen and then I get on line but when switching Forum topics it tends to re-occur before opening

This page isn’t working
thedarts.eu is currently unable to handle this request.
HTTP ERROR 500

Not I.T. literate so some what confused

Yeah, I have to refresh the page quite often as it often launches a blank page. It’s been like that for a few days.

The re-loading issue has been happening on my phone for some time but I thought it the age of my phone.
What do I know?

On Thursday someone reported a section of my website (which I also run for non football related stuff) was down. I checked and it was down, I checked my host's status page - no issues, I checked the page in question again and it was fine. There seems to be a lot of traffic coming from China (yet again), so maybe they are trying to flood my host with requests?

I have emailed my host to see what they say.

I know I have had to sign in on a couple of times recently. Also, I was in the middle of doing a post, I got interrupted and saved the post, but could find no sign of that saved post, and will have to try again to post what I was going to post. Don't know if this comment is of any help Rick.

Hi Pete, it's "thedarts.eu" that has been affected - 180,000+ visitors a day from China hitting the VM where my website resides does not help the server. It has happened before where I was getting a million visitors in a week from China. Look at the "View" stats on these:

I doubt over 4 million people are interested in Dartford player news.

I don't just run the forum under "thedarts.eu", there's other stuff too and that also has been affected.

My host denies it all and has fobbed me off with stuff I can change, but why should I change it when it was working ok before?

Interesting. I had no idea. Keep up the good work Rick. I’m sure we can, as a forum, put up with the odd gremlin.
