How many points needed to win this league?
We can achieve a maximum of 99 points this year ( unrealistic expectation to win every game)
How many points do people think will win it this year?
Biggest rivals for the title I think now is down to 2 sides Billericay and Horsham, the game at home in March versus Horsham like them all will be a massive game for us.
I think 85 points plus will win this league so a minimum of 25 points from our remaining 13 games which will be an average of nearly 2 points a game.

Statically the answer is 90 probably and anything more almost certainly

Re: How many points needed to win this league?
Jonty posted a table that projected the final league table. Found one here at https://www.soccerstats.com/latest.asp?league=england8 (scroll down on the web site a little and select projected points) - if you hover over some of the numbers it shows you more detail and if you scroll further down the page there is an explanation on how it's worked out. But I think these table consider previous home and away form as well as the strength of the opposition left to play.
We're now showing as top which shows how close things are. The only issue with these tables is that data can't really account for variables like injuries, player form, suspensions, new signings etc
Looks like we have one of the the toughest run ins out of the top five, but we do play five of the current top nine at home. On the road we've already played the current top ten. Should be fun, but looking at these projections then 90 points should do it!

Thanks Disco for the info, if it’s 90 points it means we still need to win 10 of our remaining 13 fixtures which is a big ask however the teams below us will need to win 10 of 12 games left so whoever wins this league will have been on one hell of a run !Disco Stu wrote: ↑Sun Feb 09, 2025 11:46 am Jonty posted a table that projected the final league table. Tough run in however if we can get the 3 point gap on Tuesday having played the same amount of games I think we will have a very good chance

I'm just delighted that we're even having this conversation.

Re: How many points needed to win this league?
11 games to play and a possible 97 points as a maximum amount !
Billericay won and Horsham dropped points today but both play a lot harder games next week

Re: How many points needed to win this league?
Eight weeks later and not only is this topic pertinent, we’re a lot closer to judgement day. This club has given us a number of memorable season finales - I have the footage somewhere of Alex O Brien parading the Isthmian North trophy around PP in 2008; in 2010 we all ran on the Kingsmeadow pitch as ILP champions, having tonked Kingstonian 2-6 which would set up a huge celebratory last game against Bognor with a crazy big weekend at Butlins. Just two years later saw us promoted to non-league’s top flight as Lee Noble would score a stunning 3rd minute goal in the playoff final against Welling at a sold-out PP.
What goes up so often comes down though, and we would be twice relegated from the Conference Premier before playoff heartbreaks including losing at home to Braintree who finished 17 points behind us, Chelmsford at home having held them in Essex, Jason Prior’s last day / last minuter for H&W; the Weymouth (penalties) during Covid, St. Albans & Chippenham penalties at home and last season’s futile fight-for-life at Huish Park. Phew.
And so onto 2024/25, April 5th. Dartford 76pts; Billericay 75pts; Horsham 72pts. All with five left to play, although slightly unusually no head to heads. Chances are, the winner will not be decided before the final game, so that is likely to be an emotional day. All I can say with certainty today is that 91 points will win the league

Re: How many points needed to win this league?
Well - 4 wins from 4 will win the league of course. A win on Saturday and at least a draw against the French will ensure home advantage in the playoffs in the first game at least.

I think all 89 points required after today! Going to be a tough ask ! our next 2 opponents scored 4 each today and 2 local derby’s in Dover and Cray but don’t you just love it ! Feels so much better than last years doom and gloom season…

Unfortunately, recent history will show that home form in play-offs is nowt to be enthralled by.
