The Advantage of Playing Away?

Post by Grassbank »

Football-related, obviously. Prior to the matches this evening, which are currently both being won by the away sides, there are ten teams in our league that have won more games away from home than at home whilst only four teams have won more home matches than away matches. Surely this is not what one would expect. Time for home crowds to step up and get behind their teams.

It was noticeable, I think, that during the pandemic lockdown when spectators were banned in the Prem away teams were winning more matches than home teams. It would now appear that the same phenomenon is being repeated at our level - despite the fact that spectators are now permitted. Strange?
