Shocking Performance, really don't know where we go from here, a lot of the Players are just not good enough, was Canvey's 1st point. How we went on that 20 unbeaten run last year is a loss to me, for God sake play with Wingers who create rather than just lumping long balls forward.

With no game next week, we will be on a two week unbeaten run. Things already looking better. Hopefully some of the injured players will be available again when we play next.

Something has to change at the back. Eight games into the season and we have not come close to keeping a clean sheet.

As for today, why did the ref blow the final whistle so early? Nothing was added for the melee that saw 5 rightly sent off, even though the ref generously gave it as a second yellow rather than a straight red. Having seen how they struggled to defend when we took the game to them, it was a pity that we were so impotent forso much of the match.

Looking forward to a break next weekend.

Sadly another terrible result.
Even though we conceded two awful goals I thought Ben and George played very well
However there is no cover for the defence from midfield and you could see Canvey breaking through our midfield with too much ease.
At times Olly was unplayable and I made him motm.
If I can give some advice to Callum it would be find space and stop finding a defender to stick your body to him and then take a dive. You stand a better chance of scoring by escaping a defender and running at the keeper
Finally we need a formation that allows a wide player on both sides
I am hoping when all the injuries and suspensions clear up we can start playing well and winning otherwise the gate will drop below 900
Glad there is no game next week

No interview with Pennock on Tuesday, and he sends edge out today.
Poor!

2 down inside a few minutes to the bottom of the league side who until today, had only scored two goals all season with no points is...........

So not for the first time we were left chasing a game and whilst the players never give up and dragged us back into it again, it's those same players who got us into that mess in the first place. It's become a bad habit and too regular to think that it's not going to happen again.

Eddie and Olly do pose a goal threat but we are lacking leaders and physicality in key areas, the new signing midweek looks promising so that's a start and maybe some players returning form injury might help so it's probably a blessing we don't have a game for a couple of weeks as Ady has got a hell of a lot of work to do to sort things out.

I don't class running around all game as playing well, that should be an absolute bare minimum for every player. What would help is having the ability to control and pass the ball and to protect it when we've got it, that seems to be a problem for a few of us. Far too many times under no pressure at all we just simply give possession away putting ourselves back under pressure, add to that at times we look disorganised efensively is a concern.

I know there's still a long way to go but I'm struggling to accept the position we are in, 8 games played and i don't see us going on a 20 odd game unbeaten run like this season.

I'm off out for a beer tonight and after todays result, i might well have a few more than planned......

MOTM between George (who Toffed em up for the 1st) and Olly as their goals saved us from an embarrassing defeat, with Olly just edging it for me.

On an optimistic note. Yesterday we had Dan, Sam, Sammy and Michael out through injury, we've had suspensions. I felt that with those four back we would maybe have won that game. It would be nice to think in an ideal world we , with those four back have some sort of rotation. In and ideal world, we would then have 16 players, most with first team experience on rotation week in, week out. This is with no offence to the academy kids that are packing the bench at the moment.
I don't think that Ade has had much luck from the start of this season.
But now to add to the mix he has gone out and signed a new defender, which can only improve things IMO.
The only thing I have a bug about is that he has sent Gabe Campbell out on loan which I felt at the only time I have seen him, is the nearest thing we had to a WINGER. Still, Ade is the manager.
Carruther's yesterday for all his class couldn't get the ball beyond their first defender, not from dead ball situations nor on the break.
We got away with murder yesterday and for the general opinion we're not good enough. I tend to disagree in a small way. If we had a full squad, with good rotation we could be pressing at the top.
But general opinion seems to be , with six games gone we are relegation material. ;)
My MOTM Olly Box, in the second half he frightened them.

Oh and by the way Kermo, I feel that Ade is too nice a guy. With Roland, he tells it how it is, no excuses. I like his interviews.

Sorry Kermo on my comments but I actually watched Roland's interview AFTER my posts here.
So just to reiterate, read my post and then watch Roland.
If there is a hunt going on within the club for Ade's head I don't think DFC have to go far for a new manager.
I like the guy a lot but I also think he would be loyal and if Ade got the bullet Roland would go to.

Don’t disagree what with what you’re saying at all.
I’ve never been a a fan of the assistant taking the reins though as I feel it doesn’t change much.
I don’t think Ady should only come out and speak when we win, seems a bit cowardly.
It’s only fair to judge when everyone is fully fit, I just hope we lose the 5 at the back and get Olly on the wing.

One thing I don't agree with that. I don't think Ade is a coward, not by a long way.

Judge us at Christmas. I, for one, am confident that with players back Ade will sort this out. Otherwise he’ll bring them in (eg Tennent - great signing in my opinion!)

Can’t comment on the game, wasn’t there but listened to the commentary. Sick of that constant crackling though - please sort those boys out with some new equipment.

To conclude - talk of a new manager? Don’t be ridiculous!!

I’ll wait for somebody to accuse me of wearing rose-tinted glasses lol. Not at all, yes there’s some hard yards ahead BUT we’ll get there 👊COYDs

Every team has injuries, it’s rare for many teams to have fully fit 1st team every week. We can’t use that.

I stood there for an hour wondering if Pennock had
Put out a team of novices.
We absolutely gifted Canvey both goals and it could have been worse.
Watching the Darts these days is a tough ask because there is very little to cheer about.

Has our budget been cut drastically? because some of these players look out of there depth to me.

I am aware of the injuries but Dartford have always had a reputation of being a top non league outfit.

Great stadium, great facilities but I am unable to use those adjectives about our performances .

67 years since my 1st game in 1958 ,I have seen great, good, average, below average and struggling teams in Dartford shirts.. .
As for Pennocks present outfit ...either the budget needs improving or the team is not responding to his coaching.
IT IS SIMPLY NOT GOOD ENOUGH FOR DFC

I think enough has been said about the game as we were awful first half and good second half,

I feel defensively injuries and suspensions has taken its toll, and we have only had Samir back for the last two games due to injury but talk of the players not being good enough is rubbish most of these players got us to the playoff final last season, Ady in my opinion will get it right he did last season after a dreadful run and I believe he will this season, That run last season started slowly with draws and a win here or there,

Yes I feel we do not put enough crosses into the box which if memory serves me correctly last season these came from our wing backs the two Sam’s who both were not playing yesterday.

The last three league games have been a 4-1 victory after being 1-0 down, 4-4 draw after being 3-1 and then 4-3 down and 2-2 draw after being 2-0 down which I believe shows great Character

I feel Pennock knows where the problem lies and by signing Joe from Dover and getting big Michael back will give us much needed experience at the back.

Oh and by the way we are three league games unbeaten.
