We hit the woodwork 3 times and should definitely have scored at least 3 ourselves. How Josh managed not to score from his chance I will never know. Worthing's ridiculous obsession with playing football from the back is bordering on suicidal at times and better teams than us would have punished them for their foolishness. The game felt much closer than the score suggests and you could argue that we gave it a right go in the second half, but if you think about it, there were at least half a dozen times that Worthing broke through one on one and Marsden saved the day, not to mention the other excellent saves he pulled off. Okay, he should have done better with one, possibly two of the goals, but his net contribution was at least 6 goals to the good and the game could easily have finished 9-4. The poor sod was left totally exposed on so many occasions as our defending was woeful at times and we were completely asleep for the first goal after only 4 minutes. It's just not good enough!

We've got a few decent players out there but are lacking quality in key areas, particularly the centre of midfield. Callum Jones gets my MOTM vote as he is relentless. However, we are going to need reinforcements if we are to have any chance of getting promoted which should be the primary objective of everyone at the club.

Early in the first half we went asleep at a corner and paid the price, from then on we were chasing the game which made it an even harder task. They had a few more chances and although we were well in the game and had a bit of possession, i can't recall a single effort on target.

Second half defensive mistakes cost us for their goals but we caused them quite a few problems and should have scored more. They also always give you a chance with their consistent kamikaze football of playing the ball out from the back.
However as we were pressing Worthing also had at least half a dozen one on ones so they will feel they should also have scored a lot more.

Decent effort from the team in a game we were the underdogs and a better performance than last week but we need to tighten up defensively as in the last two games, on the counter attack we have allowed our opponents countless one on ones.

MOTM - Callum had his usual good game but my vote went to Samir. We need one or two more with his quality on the ball as when he played the simple pass, he created some good opportunities for us.

On the highlights we looked dangerous a few times but you can't defend like that and expect to get away with it.

We missed out on an away trip to Plymouth Parkway FC in the 4th qualifying Rd. Wasn't that the place we went to on a wet Tuesday night last season to play Truro only to be told by those knobheads the pitch was unfit after the Dartford team and supporters had arrived at the ground.
