Welling started the quicker and scored in the 3rd minute. We were no where near our best in the first half but still had the better chances after the goal . We hit the post , had 2 off the line and were unlucky not to be awarded a penalty after Tennent was brought down from behind in the box . The Welling goal had lived a charmed life and even though we trailed at the break we were the better side.
Second half and it was back to the Dartford of the past few weeks and Welling could not live with us . Eddie with two quick fire goals and Ollie with a beautiful curling shot to make it 3 . It could have been a few more to be honest but happy to send the bus stop boys packing with nothing from the game.
Eddie Dsane scores Dartfords equaliser v Welling
Eddie Dsane scores his and Dartford’s 2nd to give Dartford rhe lead V Welling
Ollie Box scores Dartford’s 3rd with a beautiful curling shot v Welling

Oh. Forgot summat. About the referee. What an utter bell-end! Another one. What are they teaching them? It’s not the laws of the game that’s for sure. I’m not kidding, and it ain’t even sour grapes cos we’re winning (most of the time) but I’m all too often left very angry at referees’ performances. It’s not difficult boys n girls. Just do your job. Protect players. Give fouls. STOP trying to influence the game with ridiculous non decisions. You’re not footballers or mind readers. Apply the f*cking law!!

We were slow out of the box and Welling threw everything at the first half. Thery were never going to have the fitness to repeat their constant tight press in the second half. We did not play particularly badly in that first half, but we were constantly hustled and had little time to settle. However, we should still have gone in at half time at least level and not one goal behind.
In the second half we had much more time on the ball and began to find our passes more easily. We scored two quick goals that changed the momentum and suddenly we were able to take our time in the manner that Welling had in the first half. Quite funny to see them complain to the ref about time wasting after their masterclass at throws during the first half.
The ref appeared to be very particular abvout not waiving cards at players. Generally I think this a positive decision, but some of the challenges on our players were agricultural and the constant holding of our forwards was ridiculous. Needless to say, the first of two yellows was for throwing the ball away! Was this our first match where we did not receive a single card?
Welling had no answer to the pace and creativity of our front line. They had run themselves into the ground in a strong first half performance and were left watching a masterclass during the second. They will play worse than they did today in the league and win, but they were never a threat to us after the break.
Every game is a tough one and the next few are no exception. Wingate may be low down, but their current form is very good. I expect them to give us a tougher challenge than the one we faced today. It will mark my 1,000 competitive match watching the Darts, so I hope that it will prove to be a classic.
Well done Darts, a most enjoyable victory this afternoon.

That second half performance was probably the best I have seen from a Dartford side since Ebsfleet over Christmas 3 years ago we ripped them to shreds and it was a pleasure to watch.
We have the top 2 goal scorer’s in the league with 19 between them and although Eddie, Olly and Samir will get allot of the praise I think Bland looks an amazing addition and didn’t put a foot wrong so he is my MOTM today.
Good crowd, great atmosphere and a cracking second half performance !
We play W&F next week who pumped Brentwood today 5-0 away so another tough game but bring it on

I was still up the other end when Welling scored and it was a decent goal. After that though, it always felt like we were gonna break them down sooner or later.
Great team performance but MOTM for me is Olly - brilliant work for our first (looked like an OG to me) and the one he scored, and was a threat all game.
Side note: I honestly didn’t realise our drummer was in today until the second half - talk about sing when you’re winning!

Well done to the Darts on continuing their current run.
I would also like to take this opportunity from afar to say well done to Riley Finch as well, and congratulate him on taking over the match commentaries from Will Bass this season. Certainly enjoy listening to them. Many thanks Riley.

Yeah agree Pete, haven't been able to make the last two games and Riley has done a great job.
Also thanks Kev.
Great to see the goals especially when missing a game.
Well done the two of you.

As soon as welling scored the drumming and chanting was pretty loud at our end ! I thought we went noticeably quieter as soon as we started winning

To be fair I was a bit slow changing ends, so I wouldn’t have heard it over the welling drum straight after the goal. Maybe I killed the mood when I arrived at the Skinner bar end

We were sucker punched by the early welling goal and they did cause us some trouble in the first half but in that same half we hit the post, and had at least 3 really good chances to score so I always felt like our goal was coming. So wellings managers comments saying they should have been 2 nil up at half time baffle me.
Referee let alot go today with the bumping eachother players off the ball but felt he was consistent with letting things go with both sides. Although his 8 seconds countdowns for the keeper holding the ball seemed to pause at 2 each time.
Second half we just grew and grew and the 2 early second half goals made welling lose there heads. The welling keeper was half decent but started making silly mistakes with kicks and throws when behind. Completely different to the time wasting he was doing from the 10th minute.
Loved ollys curler into the top corner, left the keeper no chance.
3 more points and 4 wins in a row. Tough game now next week against Wingate who just put 5 goals past the league leaders away from home. Let's hope that's out of there system.

Top of the form table now with Box (10) and Dsane (9) top two goal scorers in the league. Must admit I didn’t think we’d be deeming Wingate & Finchley at home a ‘real test’ since leaving the Isthmian league behind in 2010 - especially considering the previous statement - but it is and we have to knuckle down professionally.
Good to see Scottish international Lou Callen turn in a typically trademark bland performance at PP. Shirt number 35 in a range up to 40 I noticed.

A great game to win but we started badly and stood still as the welling player ran unchallenged to slide the ball into the corner of the goal. Our passing out of defence was trrrible for the first thirty minutes but we began to calm down a bit in the last 15 of the first half and played fewer punts upfield.
The second half was a complete turnaround. We took the game to welling with aggressive attacks , kept possession of the ball and played with speed and composure.
The run from Olly for the first goal was stunning in speed and delivery of low cross. Eddie was brilliant putting pressure on the defender close to him but I am sure the ball came off the defender for the goal. If Eddie has been given the goal , good, he deserves it.
Olly was absolutely magnificent and unplayable. I don’t wantto put pressure on him but I haven’t seen a better player in this division. Actually I do want to put pressure on him to become a Dartford FC legend

I must admit, this is the first time I've enjoyed an interview by Rod Stringer. Honest run down of the situation at Welling and what he has inherited. He was right on their first half performance and then on their second. And if the substitute is the guy I think he was on about, I also thought the lad looked decent.
First half we seemed to think we had loads of time at the back and got caught a couple of times with players on the ball and poor passing.
The second half performance from us was a cracker with Olly and Eddie doing the business. First time I've seen Jacob and he looks a very good acquisition. Carter also looked very good when he got on.
Somewhat irked by Samir often getting caught with the ball when the easy ball was a better option. On one occasion it could have gone horribly wrong for us but for a superb recovery by George. Bland, Whitefield, Tennet and Okoye had good games. Denzelle may find it hard to get back in the side, didn't think I'd be saying that. What is the situation with him?
MOTM for me Olly.
