Pretty much spot on. I seem to recall that someone on the players’ coach rang the ground part way through the journey. As you say, coach was informed that game was off (or words to that effect!) and an about turn it did. The game was indeed played the following mid week and the Darts were despatched 5-1. I think this was a Trophy tie in the 1977-78 season. I also think that during this period either Roy Dwight or Johnny Stevens reign as manager ended shortly after this sorry episode.
Sorry I forgot the highlight of the Darts scoring. I do seem to remember that it was a cold night.

To say that nobody from Dartford turned up is wrong. This was the era before mobile phones. The team stopped en route and made a phone call to be told the match was off. The supporters' coach did not and arrived expecting a match to be played. The savvy supporters went in as children but came out as adults as the admission was refunded due to no match being played.

Not the greatest of days out.

Duke slept well after Scums 5-1 mauling against Chelmo. Wonder if he slept well after Saturday.😉

Lars after last seasons bunch of cheats it's been a pleasure to see ady and his lads restore. What's good about football and even after Dover I will continue to sleep well

I wasn’t at the Dover game but by all accounts we were not as bad as the score suggests
We are an inexperienced team so in the early days we will pick up the odd result like the Dover game
We have a squad which looks very promising and I felt that Ade needed to tweak the starting 11 a little to keep it fresh and not dishearten players
Hopefully he will make a couple of changes for this game and keep a regular pattern of changes to keep all the players on their toes and hungry for more

Presumably Marsden in goal for this, lest Kerbey be cup-tied?

Kerbey won’t be cup tied as he played in the last round for us.

Kerbey has to play. Get back on the bike as quickly as possible. Perfect game for it.

Won't be there today but let's hope we can bounce back from last week. I'm sure it won't be an easy game.

I have a date with the Red Roses at Twickenham this afternoon and will therefore be following the match on X. Hoping that the team can progress us to the next stage so that I can rejoin the journey to Wembley in a fortnight.

Good luck Darts.

Yes, I too am away for a fortnight and it's not because of the Dover hiccup.
But I will be listening in this afternoon.
Hopefully another improvement game for Jeremiah, I've seen him now in 3 games and he has improved with each.

Hoping for positive posts please while looking in at the Proctor Cars Stadium for Matlock Town v Workington at the wrong end of the Northerm Prem. No Wembley dreams for these two, but let's hope the Darts can progress and maybe get to 3QR.

Callum has been playing well lately so a goal will boost his game
