Won the toss and improved down the slope 2nd half. Satisfied, victorious coach returning home...

Fonkeu was our best player in the first half, tracking back and fighting for the cause. Really glad he smashed in the first goal.
Second goal I’m certain was offside with the lino well behind play. Will it level out over the season? Probably.

Great start to 2022/23.

Indeed, a very fair commentary team, with good knowledge of the Conference scene as well.

Enjoyed the halftime flashbacks to previous commentaries between the two clubs too, with mentions for Bradbrook and an uncharacteristic missed penalty, Noble, Ibrahim along with the history of consecutive defeats against the Darts. Glad we could continue the run today!!

Yes, Sam did seem to be well involved in the game according to the commentary team, even more so after he moved back to fill the void left by the injury to Campbell.

Missed both goals in the commentary due to my earpod battery dying on me for the first goal and an incoming call interrupting 2nd goal and also somehow delaying the commentary. Two nice surprises to get when catching up on events. Very happy with the result, and a steady performance to open the season with.

With Cheshunt also opening their campaign with a 3-2 win over Hampton & Richmond, having come back from 0-2 down, let's hope for a good gate for our opening fixture next Saturday.

Well played Darts and it will have been a happy return home for those who made it to the game.

First half was pretty non eventful but i thought Bath just edged it with a couple of half chances, whereas i can't recall us having a chance of any note.
Second half we were the better side and took our chances when they came and over the 90 mins just deserved our victory.

Not a great game but three good away points.

Bath edged the first half but Darts had the upper hand in the second and deserved the 3 points. Agree with DA Mikey that our 2nd goal was offside but the first one was a belter. Not a pretty game but we arrive home absolutely delighted. Young Sam Oduadu looking good, Fonkeu off to a great start but I voted for Capt Tom MOTM who was his usual commanding self. Great start for the Darts.

Enjoyed the away day (always a nice place to visit), despite train delays home because of football supporters! Sunderland at Bristol City? Good all round performance as others have said and summed up well in Christian's interview.

First half uneventful until Bath attacks meant some sustained defence in last few minutes, and survived a loud penalty shout and several corners. We were combining quite well without troubling the keeper.

Second half shaped better with Luke Allen boosting attacking midfield and Sam dropping back to left-back, although Sam showed good touches all the game winning tackles and he has a useful long throw. Defence very strong and Tom or Conor would have been MOM, but for Pierre's explosive goal changing the game in our favour; it seemed to come out of nowhere. Then he was in the right place to force what looked like an own goal. Encouraging start.

Great win! Enthused by the two post-match interviews by Jolley and Wilks. Team spirit and motivation sounds very good. Interesting that the lads travelled down to the West Country on Friday night. Great move!

Very much looking forward to getting back to PP for competitive football this coming Saturday. Now very excited!!

So great to catch up with so many old friends at Bath yesterday - can't believe that it is 7 years since I moved down to the West Country.

Great goal to set us on our way. Solid performance at the back, team well organised but until the goal went in I wasn't sure where the spark would come from to create something. When Alex Wall came on it was clear that he is behind everyone else in preparation but hopefully he will provide the thrust we need up front. For a first competitive match of the season it was a promising start.

See you all again in a fortnight at Taunton in a fortnight's time!!!

Jerry Gill interview:-

Apparently it's a FACT if they'd got a penalty first half they would have scored it and won the game

Riveting first half, went to sleep after going 2 up on a couple of occasions. Well done Pierre on the first goal and to some extent, the second. :)

Fantastic result , tho cost me a few quid! Great finishes, tho thought they had a good penalty shout. Bath are no great shakes , but to have the money to stay at a hotel night before will only make team spirit stronger, and that is worth 25 points a season. If Dowse gets the cash to get some players who know the ropes , this maybe a much better team than o thought. Chesant are whipping boys, Havant, worthing will give a clearer picture but a great start
