Amazing result well done DFCW

Congratulations DFCW, fully deserved, especially after coming so close in the last few seasons. Although DFCW have collected silverware in cup competitions, this is the one they have really wanted! Amazing achievement!

Words cannot describe the outpouring of emotion when the ref finally blew the full-time whistle to confirm Dartford as League CHAMPIONS 2025/26.
This was a seriously tough football match in very difficult windy conditions and on a dreaded plastic pitch. The wind was blowing almost directly down the pitch and it looked as though Dartford chose to face the wind in the first half. Saltdean had the majority of possession in the first forty-five, but Dartford restricted them to a couple of half chances. Very late in the half a Saltdean striker shot just wide as Jade rushed out quickly to narrow the angle. Dartford were in high spirits heading towards the dressing room, perhaps thinking that they were now favourites with the wind in their favour.
Saltdean had other ideas. They kept the ball on the plastic and played out from defence every time they had a goal kick. Dartford were restricted to occasional breaks, but were not creating shooting opportunities. Strangely, Jade had a quiet game against the wind, but now Saltdean were making good opportunities. Dartford breaks from defence were sometimes disrupted by foul challenges and a Saltdean player was probably very lucky to escape a yellow card with a poor challenge just in the Saltdean half. Darts set up for a high ball into the box, but the free kick was direct as it was for a foul challenge and the taker had other ideas. The keeper was standing off her line in anticipation of beating the strikers to the incoming ball. The free kick was hit long and hard and with the wind assistance it sailed gloriously over the keeper, who managed to touch but not stop it, and into the net. Elation. This was the first and only direct shot that Dartford had all afternoon and it travelled about thirty-five yards.
The game was far from won at this stage and Dartford worked very hard all over the pitch to disrupt Saltdean's attempts to get back on level terms. Everybody played their part in this particular victory, but one player stood out for me. The Dartford number one. She made at least three great saves from shots that almost everybody in the ground thought would find the net. Just one of a number of great performances.
If my maths is correct, I believe that Saltdean now need a point from their final match away at Dorking to gain promotion as one of the better performing second place teams. Having watched their performance today and how they managed their disappointment and were generous in their applause of Dartford at the prize-giving ceremony, I hope they achieve at least that point next week. They are a very good football club and deserve a place in the next league up, as does our team.
Have a great summer ladies. I am looking forward to next season already.

Following two seasons finishing as runners up we finally did it. Our ladies have now been crowned league champions!
We headed back to Princes Park where the welcoming committee was waiting. Well....er..no. Not exactly. But you could have a drink. So long as you remained quite.
So as with last year's League Cup and County Cup final victories, it's off to spend a fortune in a more welcoming environment where the Champions Bar's loss will once again be the Irish Club's gain.
As the drinks flow as celebrations continue into the early hours for the League Champions, the Champion's Bar will be holding a money spinning quiz night, selling copious amounts of coffee and tea with everyone in bed 9:30 pm.
Two major events have been played out involving DFC today and here are the scores:
SALTDEAN UNITED 0 DARTFORD 1
(Darts promoted as League Champions)
At Hill Park, Saltdean.
LOST BUSINESS OPPORTUNITIES 1 LESSONS LEARNED 0
At Princes Park, Dartford.

Yes, you are deluding yourself. DFC can't see that far ahead. The Irish club will rake in the money instead. Good on them !

Awesome, well done ladies - an amazing achievement waiting long in the wings. Hopefully everyone got to celebrate accordingly somewhere..
As for the Champions Bar, surely the fanfare and revelry had to be at least partially anticipated? It would seem that those at the helm spend longer sharpening their excuses as to why it can’t happen rather than just indulging us, but hey, we underlings are all ignorant. Congratulations DFCW.
