Disappointing afternoon .
We made very little headway against an organised Folkestone..
The Referee gave some strange decisions and never seemed in control .
Darts are a possible play offer contender but imho they are 2/3 players short of a guaranteed play off place.

Looking at the table pre-match, I hoped that we might witness a closely contested match full of quality football.
For fifteen minutes we dominated proceedings which were unhampered for the first thirteen minutes by a foul in the referee's opinion. Sadly this set the tone for the match and our attempts to threaten the Folkestone goal were often thwarted close to the halfway line, by both on and off the ball contact.
This was yet another match when we conceded very few poor challenges, yet we were on the receiving end of far too many yellow cards. When a Folkestone player went to ground, they made sure everybody witnessed it.
Folkestone may go on to win the league, but they will not win many friends in the process. They have no class, as shown by the keeper who walked towards and then past a loose dead ball rather than sending it back to where it needed to be. Pathetic really. How lovely then to see Samir's free kick leave him flapping as it sailed into the net. That moment alone made my day.
Folkestone created more clear cut chances and that usually results in a team winning the match. We had just three shots that threatened their goal. One from long range that was easily saved, one that forced a good save and one that hit the net. On the day it was never going to be enough to give us a share of the points.
We remain in the play off places tonight, but we will have to start winning matches on the road if we wish to extend our season beyond the last round of league fixtures come the end of the season. We need to bounce back with a win next Saturday.

First half was pretty even as both sides cancelled each other out and 0-0 at HT would have been fair. They did finish the half the better side though and carried that on in the second and over the 90 mins deserved their win.
We didn't really create that many chances today and maybe that was down to playing three central defenders, something we've not done for quite while?
Didn't think the ref had a good game as he let a lot go and was inconsistent, but he's not the worst we've had this season or the reason why we lost (we have had some bad one's though).
They were more street wise and out muscled us at times, not the first time this has happened this season either.
Still survival in the division still looks achievable so we shouldn't be too despondent........
MOTM - will have to think on that.

Let’s face it, we barely laid a glove on them. Not for the want of trying, but we’re just not good enough. Lacking in every position. Folkestone weren’t as good as I expected, but they didn’t get out of second gear. Pointswise we’re nearer the bottom 3 than the top. Without some additions to the playing staff we won’t make the playoffs and won’t deserve to. But, to be honest, it stinks that the Isthmian playoffs is the height of our ambition. Just like in the division above, the club is happy with a plucky playoff defeat. As that lack of ambition showed, eventually you have a bad season, heads and morale go through the floor, and you end up relegated.

Once again Henley rushed off his line for the first goal while piggott was tied up by one of our defenders , made it too easy for him to slot it past him ....then he was so lucky not to be lobbed when he came half way up the pitch ...could of had a 1-1draw if we had a decent keeper , how much longer is this gonna go on for ....can't believe Dartford are losing at home to Folkestone shamefull really even if Folkestone have a few quid being pumped into their club this season.

Personally I'm disappointed we lost. Didn't think we would win it but I'm disappointed with Folkestone. I thought they were poor, well organised, yes, but on a good day we'd have beaten them.
But this wasn't particularly a 'good day' for us. We were the better side for the first quarter of an hour. But after that we fell away.
Folkestone looked leggy and their finishing on the goals was a tad lucky. One thing with Saunders is he has them moaning like a top side, full of whingers.
I think we were unlucky to lose with Henley, Okoye and Carter having good games but Luther was a stand out player. Considering he just been brought back from Potters Bar he was my top player today.
But there was nothing else that said it was a top side or a top fixture today.

I was expecting a thumping today and it was miles off. Folkestone are a good side and likely deserve to be where they are but, like last year, the usual shithousery tactics that ‘buy’ average and less than average referees. That buffoon today did exactly as I expected him to do. Nothing. He ‘lost’ the game when he failed to correctly discipline the fella who nearly jackknifed Henley in the first half. That was a signal for everyone to go all in and not expect punishment. And then a piss poor assistant who should still be constrained to Sunday league. Calling the referee over for a yellow. What a tit!
Still, no complaints. We are what we are and we are at where we’re at. All our rivals are passing us by because we’re a bang average isthmian prem side. It’s very sad and I’m not really enjoying my football at the moment.
Someone please make it go away.

Also the inclusion of Pinder and Carruthers upped our game with Samir hitting the free kick that was unstoppable.

Henly had a good game? I must have been at a different match then because he saved one straight at him and let in two from tight angles that he should have done better withLars Resort wrote: Sat Dec 13, 2025 7:03 pm Personally I'm disappointed we lost. So should have the defence DH and I think Pigots goal was rather fortunate as the ball across the goal took a deflection before it got to him. I get what you are saying but on both occasions Henley was well beaten by two good strikes.
