It’s a good point against a very good side, if we are to challenge this season we need to be able to have 2 good halves with the open goal miss at the end from Ricky it’s a point we will all take TBH

Would've taken the point before the game.

First half we started slow but grew into it very well. Could've had 2 or 3 at HT. Arguably did have a 2nd but the ref or lino somehow didn't see it

2nd half was awful. Midfield absolutely nowhere and wingback were shattered so had nothing supporting the attack. We were lucky they only scored 1.

Ref was absolute crap. Blowing early and completely losing control of the game at points. The linesman were no help in protecting him either.

If we play like we did in that 2nd half we are in for a long season. Not sure what fitness training we've been doing but everyone looked knackered after 70 minutes. Midfield were caught out so much and as a result both had to take yellow cards which limited them.

I’ll take that. 1-1 against a good Billericay. Jonny redeems himself -but still a bit toothless up front.

Looking at the video of the goal we scored when the keeper caught it and was virtually resting on the back of his on goal net I think that second goal in the first half would have made all the difference to the lads confidence which might have been shattered after Saturday.

Would be good if the club updated us on injuries as I was looking forward to seeing Sam M in midfield after a really good pre season alongside side expecting our captain to play and didn’t realise he was injured until an hour before kick off.

Tough next 3-4 games and it’s only when we face Canvey do I think we won’t be facing a challenger for promotion.

Should have gone in at least 2 up at half time and second half we weren’t at the races at all which was unexpected

Happy to take a point in the end but I am worried about our creativity

Olopade and Pinder have huge potential and i so hope they can make us tick in what will be a challenging season

Sam Smith looked sound too and Henly in goal was fine tonight

And we move on ……

Finally, our 19th v season at PP and year new season I recognise less and less people which is a real shame

That was a terrible ref. Gave out more cards than my nan at Christmas.

Thought we played pretty well first half and billericay didn't like it when we getting into them but I guess the cards flying out from the ref stopped us getting stuck in so much 2nd half.

In the 2nd half Billericay seemed to just control it so much better and won nearly every 2nd ball. Felt like we were playing for a point after they scored. Probably would have taken that before the game but really should have been a couple up by halftime.

Really surprised everyone stayed on the pitch, Sam donkin again proving he is absolutely dirty cheat. Last season sitting down because his coach told him to waste time. This year stamping on our players face on the ground and getting only a yellow for it.

Also red calling full time on 90+ 2 when 4 mins added on. Very bizarre

Still need to improve, we just ran out of steam and never really looked like scoring in the 2nd half.

This was a good fighting performance from our team this eveing against physical opponents who played the ball well but looked vulnerable to balls being crossed into the danger zone. Their bald captain held them together at the back and the right fullback held our players. We had a very strong claim of a second goal when the keeper struggled with a high ball and he was lucky when only seeing yellow for a foul on a Dartford player laying on the ground. Not sure how the ref concluded yellow. I believe that it should have been red if the lino considered an offence had been committed. The inciodent sparked a free-for-all in which our keeper was booked and the benches partook in an element of argy bargy. No doubt both teams will be reported to the headmaster in the morning.

I believe that Bilericay are bookies favourites to win the league. Considering that we can play better than we did this evening, I think that we are in reasonable condition. We have moved up to eighteenth and we face St Albans on Saturday who like us, are currently winless. Hopefully we can come home with three points.

Well done Darts.

Maybe so, but last year, the same ref also gave out a red for good measure (as well as the usual 5 yellows, like tonight) :

Was it better than Dulwich? Absolutely, it had to be.
Can it still get better? Absolutely, as the players showed in spells tonight what they are capable of.

First 10 mins Riccay came out the blocks the better side and put us under pressure but we held firm and then took control of the first half.
Could easily have gone in more than one up and from where i was standing we can also count ourselves very unlucky as we looked to have scored when the ball looked well over the line.

Second half Riccay were the better side and put us under a lot of pressure but we defended well and showed a determination to get a result which was sadly lacking at Dulwich. Taking that into account and who we were playing tonight (bookies favourites i believe), this was a much improved performance and hopefully the start of a good run.

The players showed a completely different attitude in tonights game and if they carry on like that, we should be ok.

We have had a fair amount of injuries so far with key players missing and i think this has confirmed my belief that we need a few additions in certain areas. So hopefully Ady can do a bit of wheeling and dealing.

Happy enough tonight and some encouraging signs so looking forward to Snalbans on Saturday.

MOTM - we had a few contenders which is always a good sign so will need to have a little think on that.

Took us ten minutes to get going in the first half and once we started to play we were excellent and deserved the lead. The ball was well over the line in the keeper incident and how the Lino missed it is a mystery
We deserved to be 2/3 up in the first half
Predictably Ricay got aggressive in the second half and turned the game into a physical battle and we found it difficult to cope
Once Ade made the subs Samir was able to spread the play with some fine balls to our left from our right which took the pressure off for us and in the end we won a deserved point
Sam Smith was absolutely marvellous and I hope he becomes a fixture in the starting 11

Forgot to mention the attendance of 1217 was very good and much more than i expected as it's peak holiday season and midweek games are normally not as well attended.

As for our injuries, we've been very unlucky so far:-

Dean Naylor unfortunately has a long term injury.
Sam Okoye still not featured but fingers crossed as i believe he was involved again pre kick off.
Sammie McCleod still to feature but hopefully "Oddball" is correct and he's back Saturday. I believe he was also involved pre kick off.
Michael Olarewaju missing tonight?
Samir Carruthers and Dan Smith picked up knocks pre-season but now back in action which is very good news.

So more than our fair share already.

Impressions on my first viewing of the team this season -
Dan Smith is not as committed to the high press as Callum and Ollie are.
Jez looked quicker and stronger particularly first half (my MoM).
If Riccay are favourites then we look in fine fettle.
Denzelle and the midfield as a unit not yet where it needs to be.
Overall, given Saturdays result, I was impressed that we did as well as we did.
The refs handling of the goalkeeper incident was a bit bewildering.
Good sized crowd.
Dean seems to have retired from selling 50/50 tickets so I had to walk right round the pitch to get some.
At the end of the match getting out at the academy end was a bit of a struggle.
Nice to have a game to go to in such lovely weather.
Roll on the next one.
