Ady Signs New Contract & Player Updates

Post by Park Life »

Great news..... and Callum :) :)

https://www.dartfordfc.com/ady-pennock- ... xtensions/

DFC Is delighted to announce that Manager Ady Pennock, his backroom staff and striker Callum Jones, have all signed contract extensions to keep them at the club.

In a major statement of intent for next season, Ady put pen to paper to extend his contract, with all of his backroom staff agreeing to stay on, too.

And in a further boost to his future plans, crowd favourite Callum Jones agreed to sign again, as Ady looks to build on the momentum from the season.

Ady said: “We just had an amazing season and I loved it. I’d be crazy not to sign another contract. There’s been a massive difference in the whole club from when I came in. It’s been incredible.

“From the Chairman, the directors, the staff, playing staff and supporters. We really are working hard together, and I think the togetherness here is something special.

“I get on really well with the Chairman and the directors. They’ve been very supportive. They have always been up front with me from day one. We’re a very good team. We’ve all bought into the fact we are rebuilding for the short term, the mid-term and the future – and that’s what we’re doing, from top to bottom.

“My family – wife, children and grandchildren – all come to the games and love the club. And to my extended family – the supporters – I want to thank you for all your support. It’s great you can also see we are building, not just for a season, but for the long-term future.”

Despite bringing in a whole new squad at the beginning of the season, Ady and the board were delighted to have finished in third place in the league.

And after signing an extension, Ady quickly acted to retain his backroom staff.

He continued: “We started the season with a whole new squad, so to get within three points of winning the league was massive.

“I’m so happy that Roland, Les and Neil have all agreed to stay. They’ve been brilliant. Honestly, I cannot tell you how important they are. We’re a very good team, and we’re very close. I trust them, but their work-rate is fantastic, and every single one of them brings something different to the team. I can’t thank them enough.

“But they all wanted to stay. They’ve loved it here and can see the club is run properly and looking to push on.”

Chairman Steve Irving said: “We are delighted Ady and his team have signed contract extensions to keep them at the club.

“He’s a massive part of what we are trying to do here and the board has really enjoyed working with them all. We’d like to thank them all for all of their hard work this season.

“We look forward to working with them again and continuing to move the club forward.”

While Ady only put pen to paper last night, there was still time to secure the future of fan favourite Callum Jones, too.

Ady added: “I’m incredibly happy to keep Callum. The fans bought into what he does and brings to the team. The work-rate, the goals and his all-round play. He’s been absolutely fantastic. And I think it’s such an important signing and a statement of our intent.

“He came to the ground, I told him I’d signed and he signed and left, in five minutes.

“I will be speaking to every player individually over the next few weeks – some have only just gone on holiday – but I have an idea of who will be staying and who will be going.

“Expectation levels will be through the roof because of the season we’ve had, but we are still building and have got a young squad.

“We were disappointed to lose on Monday, but I was straight on the phone to future possible signings the following day, so it’s going to be a very exciting and busy time for us all.”

After the past few days of doom and gloom this is great news. As my son would say "Ady is the only DFC manager that he has known to go out of his way to speak with you". As a result DFC will have a new season ticket holder to boot. Let's build on this, just loving this feel good factor.

ParkLife, can you keep a rolling total of new players etc.

Management Team:

Ady Pennock, Rolland Edge, Les & Neil

Defenders:

Midfielders:

Forwards:

Callum Jones

Great news. And an early ‘statement of intent’. So pleased Callum is staying too.

This is great news. He has settled fans minds very quickly.. His staff are staying and what better signing to start with. Now all we need is Denzelle.

Bugger the budget conversation, this is excellent news.
Let's hope we retain a few more quickly.

Fantastic news ! Well done to the Board & Ade for making a quick decision.

Good luck to Ade and his management team for next season.

Let’s hope we can retain the majority of the squad and push on.

DFC is a sleeping giant, it would be great if more of the nearly 4000 crowd decide to return to Princes Park next season :D

WOW,
Fantastic news not something I was expecting to see today after reading the kent on line report,

Hopefully most of the players will sign and with some added strength on depth we can challenge again.

Absolutely delighted with this news! And pleased it has been sorted quickly.

Ady has certainly brought the feelgood feeling back into the club. I have certainly felt that, even from afar. A far more settled squad, with loanees in for the season and committed to the cause, rather than coming in for a few weeks/months and then moving on. To me, this also reflected on the squad gelling so well together, reminiscent of the squads back in Tony Burman day's.

Callum's signing is an excellent start!!

Great news that Ady & his backroom staff are all staying and brilliant news that Callum Jones is staying as well.

What is fantastic is that Ady has started the talks and signings immediately as well as being in contact with some potential new signings that he’s looking at. We’ve been so used to having to wait weeks & weeks previously about any signings or departures that we just aren’t used to hearing news so fast.

Can’t wait to hear of the next few signings now even though some players have the nerve to go on holiday now at this importanyt time 🤣🤣.

Excellent news with Ady and his staff signing up for next season and Callum as well
Looking forward to hearing who from last season will re-sign for us plus new players that Ady is after (hopefully a winger or two)
Well done to the board as well who have obviously discussed next season with Ady and have been able to keep him happy

Well pleased with this. Last season’s tenure - although a decent finish - would have been rendered fairly pointless had Pennock and co. departed. In actual fact, it feels a bit like Dowson’s first season where we genuinely could have gone up despite the poor form after tonking Ebbsfleet home & away over Xmas. Obviously we don’t want what followed that to be reprised and it won’t be.

Getting Jones in again is a great start. Box, Olopade, Odaudu, Carruthers and (10 goal) Whitefield are all high on the wish list. Not necessarily saying it stops there.

I thought Dean Naylors 5/10 minute cameo was superb in the semi final and I hope he stays with us and gets more chances to play next season
