Whitstable won in their first leg of the FA Vase semi final !st leg yesterday and should they get to the final I may be tempted to have a day at Wembley.
This will be the second time in 27 years since moving down this way from Dartford, the first being the Deal Fc final who had Tommy Sampson in charge.
Strange that both sides had ex Dart players as managers.
I would have gone had Canterbury had got there, but they faltered at the semi final stage a few years back. Obviously, they didn't have an ex Dart as manager so it was hardly surprising they didn't make the final. ;)

Should that have been in the Players of the Past thread? I did wonder.

The win left them 21 points clear of their nearest rivals with 6 matches to play and should see them play in the Isthmian Premier League next season (unless they are placed in the Southern League). Hopefully we won't be playing them 🤞.
Apparently they’ll be placed in the Southern League Premier South next season. Must be a geographical thing.

Hasty departure from the south coast following his fleeting tenure down the road!

I remember Tommy dancing in front of the crowd at the end. Also the winning goal itself was worth the trip alone. For 85 minutes Chippenham battered Deal and then the goal was in the 88th minute.

Taken from CVPM website

Club Statement issued 7th April 2025

Rule Breach

Cray Valley (PM) have accepted a league charge of playing an ineligible player in the 2-0 win at Potters Bar Town on the 8th March 2025. As part of the sanction against the club the three points gained in that game will now be deducted. The league table going forward will reflect this.

Billericay defeat Chatham in the Velocity Cup final 3-2 with a winner in time added on. They can have that and we will get the league championship.

I see uncle Jim has issued a statement concerning the behaviour of certain Dover fans up at PP on Friday.
Let's hope it's not catching should things not go our way this afternoon.
One would like to think we are going to conduct ourselves properly at any club including PP.

Random question but does anyone know how the league navigates three potential champions on final matchday? I know the Premier League will have duplicate trophies but is it the same at this level?

I can’t imagine the logistical nightmare in the NLS with 6 potential winners!

I think that had we won at Cray, the trophy would have been at PP this Saturday. I don’t think they’ll have a replica. They’ll just play 50/50 with the other two is my guess.

Folkestone are already preparing for next season. Only 4 players have been retained (including Jack Jebb and Ade Yusuff) and a further 6 are in talks. At least 10 of the squad (including ex Darts Sam Blackman and Nathan Green) will be leaving. Another ex Dart, Luke Allen, evidently left just before the end of the season.
