Who got MOM inside the ground from the sponsors
Re: Dartford v Horsham Sat 1 Mar 2025
I'm pretty sure it was George Whitefield.
Re: Dartford v Horsham Sat 1 Mar 2025
Fretting over. That's some trick we pulled in the last few minutes, the work of magicians and just the sort of never say die attitude that wins titles.
The ref gave Jones nothing today and he was.pulled from pillar to post.
Clear MoM - the keeper was mighty.

II will own up as I almost alway leave the game with 5 minutes to go to avoid the traffic but we were so poor throughout that I left at 80 minutes and I understand that the 5th Searcher was not far behind me so we missed the goals.
This is not the first time in recent games that I have missed goals but if this means we score each time then I will have to keep it up for the very loyal fans of 90+ minutes
I listened into Radio Kent once in the car and even they initially missed the goals giving Horsham a 0-1 win and it took them around 10 minutes to tell me and any others fans it was an error and we had won 2-1.
Well done to all the players for achieving the win and 3 points for all fans and I will catch up and watch either with Kev's posting or the match film.

It was so noisy for the fifteen minutes, couldn't really hear the tannoy. And I completely missed the final whistle. It was only when the management walked on the pitch I realised it had finished. Bit of handbags at the college end too. Seems like Horsham a bit upset by the result?
Re: Dartford v Horsham Sat 1 Mar 2025
What a finish to the match . Credit where credit is due Horsham are a very good side .
We were not great in the first half, but were much better in the second. The substitutes definitely made a difference and Samir to control of the midfield. After that we were pushing for the equaliser and just as I was starting to think it would never come George sliding to make it one all. Straight from the kickoff, we got a free kick which was delivered by Samir to the back post, the boat was then headed back across goal and there was Eddie to bundle the ball Home. Queue absolute scenes.
George Whitefield scores Dartford’s equaliser in the 87 minute v Horsham
Eddie Dsane scores Dartford’s winner in the 89th minute v Horsham

I think we got away with one today but the character was there to see. We pressed and then when they weathered the storm we pressed a little more.
Jacob did a couple of cracking saves and then the one that slithered through his finger's and hit the bar
.
Eddie again gets the crucial goal which livened Horsham up again. George got the breakthrough.
But for me today I'm going with Denzelle, he was all over the pitch. I absolutely love this guy. He was brilliant.
Well done the lad's.

Well what a way to win a game, so many emotions today first half we were not in it and thought it just not our day but as the game went on and the chances Horsham had and missed something in me thought it’s not really their day either,
Once we scored I just knew we would go on and score again but then again I also thought they would equalise in added on time thankfully I was wrong,
Great win could look back at this win and say that was the day we won the league, MOM has to go to Jacob but I also thought big Michael at the back was very good today and Samir made a difference,
Well Done Darts and we go onto next week and another tough game

Wow. Didn't expect that after following on train from frosty Bakewell to sunny Cornwall for walking week. On arrival at about 4.30 it was looking gloomy, but now what a lovely evening!
Well done to those there. Must have been a tough watch, but should have faith in the lads to turn it around.

That is how titles are won. Incredible finish to a very difficult game.. Samir changed the game but ultimately it would have already been lost but for MOTM Jacob. Only 9 to go, it's going to be fun.
Re: Dartford v Horsham Sat 1 Mar 2025
Agree 100% with all that pal. Jacob gets my vote too.Sleightly Deceptive wrote: Sat Mar 01, 2025 5:47 pm Callum didn’t have his usual 9/10 performance but got absolutely no protection from another inept referee. Callum is a strong player and doesn’t ‘just’ fall over every time. We managed to beat two teams today. Dunno how. But we did. Well done Ady for the subs. Samir made the difference but Jacob, not for the first, or second, time this season, saved. our arses and was MOTM by a distance. I’ll be surprised if there are any other votes. That says a lot about Horsham. Outplayed us for most of the game but their tanks were empty last ten.
Toughed it out again and showed mighty mettle to get those 3 points. We were fitter than them over 97 minutes and that, for me, proved the difference.
Re: Dartford v Horsham Sat 1 Mar 2025
Well done to Ady, his team and the players, a MASSIVE result today.
I've got to be honest and say in the last couple of games i don't think we've played with our usual intensity and have looked a little off the pace at times.
So i was concerned coming into this game and after the first 45 minutes where we never won our individual battles and hardly picked up a second ball, i was not surprised Horsham went in at HT ahead. They were the better side.
Second half though we came out with far more intent and so imo it was a game of two halves, maybe Horsham also put so much into the first 45 mins they didn't have much left in the tank and this is why we got the goals late on.
Again our players have shown great character and a never say die attitude and I'm hoping this was one of those season defining games that help us have a great end to the season.
Another great attendance and the fans as well as the team came alive second half to make it another memorable day.
MOTM for me was George Whitefield, i said late into the game he was my choice but was worried i'd put the kiss of death on him, no chance of that as he also popped up again with another goal to turn the game on it's head.

Oh and how does football completely screw your head up in the space of a few minutes.
At 0-1 down the mood was hope, at 1-1 it was optimism and the thought we would go on and win it and as soon as we go 2-1 up it was hope we'd hold on

Great result in the end and in strange way a very entertaining game. Weren't in it much first half but we had 70% of the second. I think we deserved to get the equaliser but to go on and get the winner was a bonus for us all.
MotM Jacob.

Lazy management.
If someone dares to go outside the wet wipes opinion ate then considered wrong?
We were awful today for most of the game, and got lucky with the subs.

Re: Dartford v Horsham Sat 1 Mar 2025
I will not understand why Horsham wasted time towards the end of the first half when we were providing such poor opposition. They had been quick and physical and were bossing the game and making the most of a ref that was happy to let most challenges go unpenalised. We were a different proposition in the second half, but we still struggled to create any clear opportunity on goal until late in the game. Perhaps Horsham had run too hard in the first half as we took control and finally began to gain a few decisions from the ref.
It was not Callum's greatest game, but he was constantly fouled which prevented him from imposing himself on the game. Reverting to a close passing game from the unsuccesful long ball approach of the first half changed the dynamic and the delivery for our first goal was very difficult to defend against. Interestingly, as we tried to rush back with the ball for the re-start, the Horsham full back tried to prevent us taking the ball back. Horsham were clearly now on the back foot and were hoping for the final whistle. The winning goal should have been in the final moments of the game, but Horsham had wasted so much time during the match that seven minutes were added. They managed a half chance with the last attack of the game which Jacob was grateful to cling on to.
Some of the Horsham players could not hide their disappointment at the end of the match which merely added to the Dartford fans' glee. Horsham could not blame anybody except themselves. They lacked the courage to try nto put the game out of reach towards the closing stages of the first half.
Top marks to the Darts for believing in themselves and for taking control of the match in the second half. We could so easily have lost this match, but have come away with a very valuable three points. We never accept that we are beaten until that final whistle blows. The start of a new run?

Horsham are one of the best teams to visit PP
Imho.
Despite dominating the 1st half though they seemed to settle for for a 1-0 win and paid the price .
Well done Darts for not giving up and Ady for the substitutions particularly Samir who helped to change the game.
I was also pleased for Eddie Dsane who has a knack of scoring when he enters the fray..

Congratulations to Ady & the team for a great result in the end, I must admit I have absolutely no idea how we managed to do it but hey who cares we got the 3pts.
After the 1st half I could only see one side winning and it certainly wasn’t us but in the 2nd half we came out fighting a bit more and actually created a few more chances but without actually putting their keeper to the test.
I ended up leaving early on about 82 minutes partly because I just couldn’t see us scoring at all but mainly because I had to get back to Gillingham for Ice Hockey at 5:45pm so unfortunately missed both of our goals and thought Radio Kent had made a mistake when they said we’d won 2-1 a great surprise though.
For me although Jacob Marsden had a couple of dodgy moments during the game he more than made up for it with the 2 or 3 superb saves he made when it was 1 on 1. Jacob clearly kept us in this game and probably won us the game so easily becomes my MOTM.
This really is becoming a topsy turvy rollercoaster of a season, keep it going Darts, 9 games to go to try and become league champions.
