Taunton and Truro have reversed their fixtures so they are now playing at Taunton on Tuesday instead of at Plymouth Parkway - I assume this means that Truro are not sure they can host a home match next week

Truro City have announced that they will be playing their "home" matches at Taunton's ground for the rest of this season rather than at Plymouth Parkway. Both Truro and Plymouth Parkway have had numerous home matches postponed this season due to the weather and issues with the pitch (waterlogged or frozen).

AN UPDATE ON OUR REMAINING HOME GAMES IN 23-24 BY GARETH DAVIES

Football's Coming Home back to Truro, and back to Cornwall this summer for Truro City Football Club, but before it does, we must communicate an important update on home fixtures for the remainder of the current Vanarama National League South campaign.

As you are aware, unfortunately we have not been able to play a number of home fixtures at Bolitho Park this season. In the circumstances, we have made the decision to move our remaining home games this season away from Bolitho Park.

Truro City’s home games for the last months of the 23-24 campaign will take place at Wordsworth Drive, home of Taunton Town Football Club.

Our match against Eastbourne Borough will now take place this coming Saturday, February, 10, at Wordsworth Drive. The home fixture next Tuesday, February 13, against Dover Athletic will not take place on this date, and will be rescheduled to a date to be confirmed, later in the season.

This decision to move was not made lightly, and we recognise that in some ways it makes it even more difficult for our incredibly loyal supporters to be with us in our last matches outside Cornwall.

However, we consider that this temporary arrangement will help the club to best meet our remaining match day commitments for this season.

With such a momentous return home now confirmed for this summer, our time and energy away from the pitch is focused on making the imminent move to our brand-new facility at Langarth the best it can possibly be, for you, our fans, as well as for our players and staff.

The club would like to place on record our considerable thanks to the National League for their support since the takeover. We’d also like to thank Taunton Town, who have generously allowed us to see out our last few months in exile at their storied facility.

In the coming weeks, we will have more news to bring you regarding our return to Truro, but in the meantime, we are committed to finishing the season as strongly as possible and building for an incredibly bright future.

How do people feel about the current trend of clubs simplifying their badges?

Simply done by clubs to simplify the design therefore making it cheaper to produce in print and other scenarios. At least it's not a circle like virtually every other club has done.UnIntricate (boring) and using one colour. Crap imo,which as a Woking fan no one's cares about. Did warn u about Dowse. Attitude was the same at Woking. Anyway we move on and gd luck rest of season. Cheers

Statement from the directors of Maidstone United

We all enjoyed a fine performance from the Stones on Saturday against league leaders Yeovil. Many of the fans who travelled to Ipswich last weekend came back to a packed Gallagher Stadium to see some exciting league action but will also have been dismayed at some of the violent scenes in the Genco End, mainly in the away supporter areas.

Football matches do not have to be ruined and shamed by such behaviour. Only the previous weekend some 4,500 of our supporters travelled to Ipswich, where the match was played and watched in excellent spirit. Supporters exchanged good-natured banter in an electric atmosphere and mingled after the match without any unsavoury incidents. Many of our fans spoke of how welcoming Ipswich fans were, how they were gracious enough after defeat to offer us their good wishes. This is how football matches should be experienced and this is the atmosphere we wish to encourage at the Gallagher Stadium so supporters young and old and families all feel safe and welcome.

Following Saturday’s match we will be investigating the incidents fully and reflecting on any measures which could be taken in the future to deter such incidents of fans misbehaving, which thankfully are rare. We will also consider banning away ticket sales altogether for those clubs, like Yeovil, which have a track record of travelling supporters who cause trouble. We would rather see reduced attendances if that means we ensure a friendly, safe, positive experience can be had by all at the Gallagher Stadium.



How about their own fans who throw a constant barrage of coins and bottles at us every time we visit and do sod all about it.
The only club i know who had their own steward thrown out by the police.
Follow our fans to the station and cause trouble there.
The list goes on and on and why we only took a handful of supporters their on the last visit.

They really are the pits and should take a long hard look at themselves first.
This sort of statement is totally irresponsible and why they are one of the most disliked and arrogant clubs in football.

I can't believe the board at Maidstone are still making these statements. They've been having issues with yobs for years and done sod all about it. They believe these unsavoury incidents are rare. Really? Well they're not in their case.
I think a lot of fans who have experienced a less than welcoming atmosphere at the Gallagher Stadium were hoping they would draw Gillingham at home in the first round proper of the FA Cup, where it would have kicked off big time.
Because no doubt the police safety recommendations would have been ignored as usual and whatever the result there would have been a good chance of them being expelled from the competition and possibly ordered to play selected league games behind closed doors.
The fact we are seeing the same old statements being wheeled out again suggests they've learn't nothing from the past. And as for blaming away fans it's strange how you never read about them causing trouble anywhere else. If they did you could describe that as rare. Unlike the Stones (coin throwers) where "rare" becomes regular.

Most definitely arrogant. Nothing has changed since the Thompson days of that despicable club in that respect. They’ve just added the neanderthal element since that era.

I do acknowledge that the vast majority of Maidstone fans are undoubtedly decent enough people and some may even be unaware that their club has a serious problem, especially if they believe the nonsense being spouted by their directors, but they most definitely DO have a problem and this latest statement is only going to fan the flames. Is it even possible that the Maidstone directors behind that statement are genuinely so detached as to be clueless to the extent of the yobbo problem they have at their club, or are they deliberately lying by omission in order to save face? I am inclined to think the latter as, no matter how isolated they may be in their ivory towers, it would surely be impossible for them not to be aware of the 50 or so juvenile thugs who deliberately provoke visiting fans with abuse and missiles at every opportunity.

That Maidstone of all clubs should have the bare faced cheek to call out other clubs is quite frankly astonishing. Visiting fans are forced into an enclosure no part of which is out of range for the missile throwing neanderthals and the stewarding is as bad as I have seen anywhere. The stewards are incompetent at best and in many cases aggressive and confrontational and on one occasion, one even got thrown out by the police. The football club is the most hostile and unwelcoming in our division and personally I have actually stopped going there because there is no place for visiting fans who just want to peacefully watch the football. I have nothing but contempt for the people who run the club and for them to call out other clubs' fans behaviour is like Harold Shipman trying to give advice on patient care.
