With the ticket office at Dartford station being closed and the queue for the one available ticket machine being as long as your arm, I opted for the bus to Woolwich Arsenal.
I then boarded the DLR and made it up as I went along by alighting at Poplar, before jumping back on the same train, as the doors were closing, when I realised I could get off at Shadwell and hop across the road for the Overground to Rotherhithe.
I arrived just after kick off and it was well worth the journey.
