Re: The state of Dartford football club
Agree with a good bit of what Dave T says there. I reckon Steve King was a good ambitious appointment, turning around the mess made by Coyle / Flanagan admirably and steering us from relegation fodder to playoffs. He lost some of the fans and some of the dressing room along the way, but his ruthless...

Re: Last 10 games
Game 6 of the last ten and we’ve amassed two points against my predicted four. For the final four games, I predicted losses against Havant & Yeovil, a draw against Worthing and a win against Truro. Sadly, a review of this seems like we have less chance of scoring a goal than we do of getting any...

Re: The state of Dartford football club
Let’s face it, DFC as we are at present are incapable of scoring any goals, so a random fans XI could be picked out to play our first team and a draw would be a disappointing result (for the fans).

Re: Dartford v Eastbourne Borough Mon 1 Apr 2024
Unlikely, but Yeovil could be crowned champions tomorrow if they win at Weymouth and Chelmsford lose at Dover. The Glovers are sure to have the title sewn up by the time we visit next Saturday.

Anyone can make mistakes Spike. On the BBC at 7.30am today on the TV it was announced that Oxford had won the boat race. It wasn't until 8am that they apologised for the error.

Re: Dartford v Eastbourne Borough Mon 1 Apr 2024
Someone said this game wasn’t a must win. It absolutely 100% is. We won’t gain any places in the table whatever happens, but may very well slip down to 22nd if we lose. We have almost a full squad to chose from, so have a realistic chance at home against fellow strugglers. Looking at the table, it’s...

To be honest it was unthinkable at the start of January!Sleightly Deceptive wrote: ↑Sat Mar 30, 2024 6:35 am Start of the season I said I’d be delighted if Dover went, so I don’t have to go back to that shithole of a ground. Now it looks like we’ll be joining them!! Unthinkable back in August!

Re: Last 10 games
Had us down for three points at this stage - we’ve managed two. Monday’s game I predicted a win which feels very ambitious. Truro have surely saved themselves as they now look for about 5 points from ten games whilst we need about 10 points from five games (title winning form). Dover have gone today...

Re: Chelmsford City v Dartford Fri 29 Mar 2024
I think they do care….it’s just NONE of them are good enough for Dartford fc or this league! It’s a simple equation much as football is a simple game! Quite right. I highlighted a couple of weeks ago the very frequent conflicting posts about player effort vs. apathy. Our team are likely trying just...

Re: Chelmsford City v Dartford Fri 29 Mar 2024
Just woke from a dream in which we were playing Deal Town (and went 0-1 up!) in a church hall, where the ‘game’ consisted of some ‘players’ sitting in a circle, pushing cars around with one finger, shunting a ping pong ball and making ‘brrrrrr’ noises. God we need to stay up. A win here today would ...

Re: Truro City v Dartford Tue 26 Mar 2024
If this is a team fighting for survival then put the white flags up now. Woeful,no other word for it. The new lad up top is miles off what’s needed, and as for coulson. Not really a team, is it? A group of individuals - some that have been here for a while, some of which have got a few games under ...

Massive props to all you hardy souls.
I remember playing Gloucester at Evesham on a Tuesday night but our situation was very different and it was a joy to be there.

Re: Last 10 games
Verily, the meagre prediction for our last ten games has already gone wrong for the worse. Perhaps instead of eight points, two points is more realistic. It’s strange, because to me our team doesn’t look that bad, but maybe it goes to show what a wretched habit losing can be. Big fish in little pond...

Re: Dartford v Hemel Hempstead Town Sat 23 Mar 2024
Today really is the decider. Failure to win at home against a team in total free fall after losing twelve out of fifteen games says to me no way back. In fairness, this time last year we did all we could to finish outside of the playoffs and still came second, so hopefully our relegation push gets ...

Re: Player news
No one can accuse Ade of not rolling the dice to keep Dartford FC in the NLS. The current squad - regardless of effort - are losing week in, week out, so not much to be lost by chucking the kitchen sink at it for the last month. Anything could happen.
