Re: FA Cup 2nd Qualifying Round - Dartford v Welling Sat 16 Sep 2023
I can respect other people's opinions without having to agree with them, but the stuff Ajaxman posted was (fair enough) done in such a way as to suggest they were not necessarily all his views, but anecdotal views of "supporters" he's met in the town. Some of those comments are subjective ...

Re: FA Cup 2nd Qualifying Round - Dartford v Welling Sat 16 Sep 2023
Whilst I think our club is generally run very well, having read through the more sensible posts, I think there are a fair few points raised and I am reminded of some things we could do better. I have yet to speak to a single person who doesn't think the website has always been terrible. It's been me...

Re: FA Cup 2nd Qualifying Round - Dartford v Welling Sat 16 Sep 2023
People are suggesting here the corporate side isn’t working very well?? The club have alienated the young fans??? The manager isn’t doing his job??? Sorry but it’s the board who are to blame Long term fans walked and people that went home and away and spent money in the bar and club shop walked Unf...

That's a very positive interview, much more upbeat. I'm actually looking forward to Saturday now.

Re: FA Cup 2nd Qualifying Round - Dartford v Welling Sat 16 Sep 2023
I've read a lot of stuff recently about what the club is doing wrong and that our board lacks ambition and such like, and in my personal opinion those criticisms are completely unjustified. As a whole, I believe we have one of the best run clubs at this level of football and the people who are runni...

Re: St Albans City v Dartford Sat 9 Sep 2023
Whilst we are consistently dull to watch, I do agree with Dowse that we were unlucky to lose this game. A draw would have been a fair result. That said, the fact that he is "delighted with the performance " does worry me.

In these temperatures, those people calling out our fitness levels will find out if they're right in the second half.

Re: News from around the National League South
Some clubs never learn. The more you keep pushing that agenda Dean, the more people will push back with the obvious fact that he got results and the football was better. That is what matters most to 95% of people in the ground. I understand why the club made the decision but it's done and dusted no...

Re: St Albans City v Dartford Sat 9 Sep 2023
I've seen every game so far this season but with morale plummeting, the team in disarray and temperatures set to exceed 33C on Saturday, I'll probably be giving this one a miss. Not least because the one and only player I enjoyed watching in the last two games (Archie Woods) was surprisingly called ...

Re: Dartford v Slough Town Tue 5 Sep 2023
I have frequently been described as one of the "rose tinters" on here, but if I'm going to keep that reputation, Dowse really has to give me something to work with. I'm sorry, but the style of football we are playing is simply horrible to watch and there is absolutely zero flair or creativ...

From the Dover forum ... "Well that performance was absolutely dreadful. No goal threat from us. We cannot defend corners. Olarewaju blatantly punched Bradbury and got away with it. Dunne played his worse game." https://media.licdn.com/dms/image/D4E03AQH62Wtwurs6-w/profile-displayphoto-shr...

Re: Dartford v Dover Mon 28 Aug 2023
I never realised Ollie Box was a striker, every time I’ve seen him play he’s always been in midfield. I've watched him play many times. He scored for fun at academy level last season and has already got a hat trick in his first game this season. He's an excellent finisher, one of those players who ...

Re: Dartford v Dover Mon 28 Aug 2023
Our bench contained no strikers today ... Ollie Box may be a youngster, but having watched him several times I can say that he is most definitely a striker and potentially a bloody good one. ... but I take your point about Wall and Sheringham, good players though they both are, Douglas Bader had fe...

Re: Dartford v Dover Mon 28 Aug 2023
I hesitate to use the word "easy", but I'd be very worried if I was a Dover supporter right now. They are in a right mess and on a downward spiral which in my view is entirely their own fault being a dirrct result of their unnecessary and foolish decision to unilaterally withdraw from fulf...

Re the pen that was and then wasn't. Never in a million years was it ever a penalty. It was right in ftont of us and we were all falling about laughing when it was initially given. It doesn't give you much confidence when the ref calls it as handball (they can only give "what they see" but...
