Re: FA Trophy 2nd Round Swindon Supermarine v Dartford Sat 19 Nov 2022
Ebbsfleet probably fielded a weaker team in view of their league push and FA Cup success. Not sure what our excuse is. Sad for those that have travelled today.

Re: Dartford v Braintree Town Sat 5 Nov 2022
If their manager claimed that the ref got stuff wrong for his team, he is dead right. There was constant shirt pulling and two-handed pushing in the back by his defenders that the ref totally ignored. How their captain did not see yellow, at a minimum, for the push right in front of the referee afte...

Re: Dartford v Braintree Town Sat 5 Nov 2022
Special thanks to the back-room team that arranged the two-minute remembrance yesterday. I felt that the addition of the last post playing up to the end of the silence made it a fitting tribute. Great that the fans of both teams showed their respect. We will remember them.

Re: Dartford v Braintree Town Sat 5 Nov 2022
Firstly, congratulations to the football team on the pitch for ignoring the constant provocation from the appalling team from north of the Thames. Feigning head injuries to get players booked is about the low as you can get. It only resulted in the crowd becoming more involved in the game and cranki...

Re: Dartford v Weymouth Sat 29 Oct 2022
Weymouth proved to be difficult opponents, playing some good passing football and a lot of long ball over our back line. It almost led to a goal, but Joe stood up and made a good save. Samir never got into the game and was presumably carrying a knock. He did not come out for the second half. Charlie...

Re: News from around the National League South
Interesting that Ebbsfleet have played more home league games than us so far this season. Sad to think that they will have to play catch up with many away games on mid-week dates. Less of an issue for a full-time team, but it could work against them.

Re: Slough Town v Dartford Tue 25 Oct 2022
Two very good results on the road over the last four days. I gain the impression that the squad is beginning to evolve into a functioning team with strength on the bench and a manager that is prepared to gamble by using all three subs reasonably early in the game if deemed necessary. Looking forward...

Re: Dartford v Tonbridge Angels Sat 15 Oct 2022
Tough match against difficult opponents. Very pleased with the performance right across the park.
If Tonbridge spent as much effort on their football as they do in harassing the referee, they may win a few more matches and a little more respect.

Re: Dartford v Hungerford Sat 1 Oct 2022
Not a pretty game, but then it was never going to be. The referee made some very strange decisions, but he was probably confused by the constant nagging from the players in the marker pen shirts. On one occasion, a Hungerford player made three fouls in very quick succession on the same Dartford play...

Re: RIP - Clive Vallins
Very sad to hear this news. I first met Clive in the 1970's at Watling Street when he persuaded me to help in the 'closed season' with basic ground maintenance, mostly comprising painting large quantities of wall with white paint. He was also a regular friendly face on the many away trips that I too...

Re: FA Cup 2nd round qualifying Dartford v Beckenham Town Sat 17 Sep 2022
My first Dartford match of the season. It was one to forget. Where was the commitment?, the desire? the passion? I cannot believe that we were so poor. We posed no real threat on goal. We had countless corners which rarely threatened a keeper that had no desire to catch anything all afternoon long. ...

I guess that there is a strong possibility that this game will now not take place on Saturday.
Today is a very sad day for our great nation.

Re: Steve King
I would like to thank Steve King for the work that he did at our club. Some of the football that we played was great to watch. Sadly, over the course of a season, we were not able to outperform the full time teams. We finished comfortably highest of the part-timers. I can only assume that there was ...

Re: Dartford v Chippenham Thu 12 May 2022 19:45
Very poor performance at home again tonight on an almost flooded pitch. Our opponents should have won the match in normal time. They had the better of the chances and missed an open goal. Not sure why we went into the penalty shoot out with our best striker having been subbed shortly before, but per...

Re: Climbing Snowdon Non League Legends (Dartford FC)
Good luck to our legends for their challenge tomorrow. Hopefully they will be able to keep track of the match at Eastbourne as they climb the heights. What would we give to have them available for these last few matches at the peak of their careers? Hopefully our current crop of players can rise to ...

But that then clashes with the ladies FA Cup final which I am sure a number of us have tickets for already. Bother.

Re: Dartford v Braintree Town Mon 2 May 2022
I have just watched the highlights of the Slough match from Saturday. Although we have used a large number of players this season, I made two observations. The first was that players were very much on the same wavelength as there were a number of very subtle touches and first time passes that found ...

Re: Kent Senior Cup Semi Final - Welling v Dartford Tue 26th Apr 2022
This match has clearly excited very few fans. Less than twenty-four hours to kick-off and no mention - unless I have the wrong date. Both teams have far more important matches coming up. It will be interesting to see how each club lines up tomorrow evening.

Re: Press Release: London Stadium To Host Vanarama National League Promotion Final
Dreadful decision for non-league football. Soulless stadium where fans are too far away from the pitch and which is not designed to amplify crowd sound. Such a major match should be played at a major football stadium, not at a converted athletics arena. The clubs, players and fans have been short-ch...
