Re: Aveley v Dartford Sat 26 Aug 2023

That's really good news to hear checking in from family visit to Yorkshire. Seeing only 2 pages on the forum I feared the worst.
Onwards and upwards now you Darts!

Re: NLS Grounds

Thanks for posting that. Very amusing especially about Concord and Welling, and cheered me up from yesterday's letdown. Recommended.

Re: Dartford v Farnborough Sat 19 Aug 2023

Others have summed it up well, so there's little else to add. So frustrating to throw away 2 points, when we were a minute or so from being 12th, and we were into injury time, given for Farnborough's time-wasting before we scored. Defence all very sound, and they must be so down seeing a forward com...

Re: Dartford v Hampton & Richmond Tue 15 Aug 2023

Came away disappointed, as after an uneventful first 30 minutes with neither side creating anything, and H&R having more possession, we then came into the game with some positive attacks with Barzey and the two Lukes prominent. We deserved a win until fading in the last 10 minutes, and were then...

Re: Dartford Players of The Past

Matt Godden still scoring for Coventry City. Looking him up, I see he was with us for only 9 games on loan from Scunthorpe 10 years ago, and scoring 5 times. Remember a well taken effort away to Woking.

Re: Weymouth v Dartford Sat 12 Aug 2023

Interesting introduction of youth at the back. Goalie 20 and 6 ft 4 if I've converted from metric properly, and Golding just 19 on Thursday. Hope U23 experience good enough for the big boys league, but well done Dowse for getting in what he promised. Good luck to the boys today and the hardy travell...

Me too Pete. We are likely to be moving further north soon, so like you my visits to Princes Park may be infrequent, but it's our way of continuing support to our boyhood obsession!

Re: News from around the National League South

Bishop's Stortford's appeal turned down by F.A. so make-up of NLS unchanged.
Strangely, I could now travel 17 miles south down the M11 from Essex/Cambs border to watch National League North matches, if I wasn't so committed to 62 years of the joys and sorrows of supporting the Darts!

Re: News from around the National League South

That's good to know and will shave 70 miles each way off driving distance for us to Truro. Almost as far as my nearest Natuonal League team, Bishop's Stortford, will have to travel for their *local* derbies next season to Brackley or Kings Lynn.

Good news looking in from Italy. 27c siesta time but will be sweating, wishing and hoping the lads can keep it up so I can see us finish the job next week!

Buona fortuna. Up the Darts!

Re: Dartford v Chelmsford City Sat 25 Mar 2023

Frustrating that we couldn't hold on to the lead, but Conor's injury made a big difference, as the defence was strong until then, particularly with Sam's contribution, and Chelmsford's finishing was poor. Keiron is blamed for losing possession, but he wasn't the only one to do so in the build-up to ...

Re: Player news

In fairness to The Duke and others, myself included, I was unaware of which player had been offloaded, and to where, as the original posts yesterday linked to a tweet that at the time was said to be unavailable when clicking in to it. I can see that now the link is to a club announcement.

Re: Braintree Town v Dartford Sat 18 Feb 2023

That was a hard watch in the first half with few passing movements and nothing to worry their keeper. Bad mistake allowing their goal through Ben's legs, which seemed to make him and the defence jittery. Braintree were nothing special, and fortunate they were poor with their scoring attempts. The te...

Re: Dartford v Chippenham Town Sat 11 Feb 2023

Agree with others that we didn't play that well, but with two well worked goals from crosses, a clean sheet and 3 points, we can't complain. Will miss Charlie, who was energetic and striving to get things going up front, so hope he's not out too long. Defence solid, but Chippenham were poor in sight...

Re: Dartford v Ebbsfleet Sun 1 Jan 2023 @ 3pm

A Very Happy New Year indeed! It's been quite rare over recent years to see the team perform when we have a big match crowd, and I have a black and blue bruised finger from so much clapping yesterday. Until yesterday I'd picked the wrong matches to attend this season, with more losses than wins seen...

May not be the right thread for this, but nice to see the club gets a mention on the National League site for its seasonal visit to the children's ward at Darent Valley. Well done Dowse and the boys. https://www.thenationalleague.org.uk/clubs-so-committed-to-spreading-festive-joy-in-com-73867 Merry ...

Re: News from around the National League South

Interesting results last night, and enjoyed seeing Maidstone concede the lead to two late goals and a sending off at Dorking leaving them still in some trouble.
