Re: Bath City v Dartford Sat 10 Feb 2024

I know Bath are tough opponenmts and it will certainly be a difficult game, but I am greatly encouraged by last week's performance at Farnborough (which should have been a draw as their winning "goal" was offside) and the win in the week over a very skillful QPR side. The football we playe...

Re: Another match at Princes Park on February 7

Just don't be surprised if there's a vacancy for new tenants next season. To be honest I would be surprised. I would be very surprised if it happened for that reason ... because it would be a very silly response to a situation outside of anyone's control. I appreciate the weather may have messed up...

Re: Another match at Princes Park on February 7

Geez Ajaxman, you can't be serious. The pitch was in pretty good nick last night but has taken a right pounding with rain overnight and despite Jay's best efforts the game was called off this afternoon following a pitch inspection. It's so rare to lose a game, we almost take Jays superhuman efforts ...

Re: London Senior Cup 2nd Round - Dartford v QPR Dev Tue 6 Feb 2024

It's a cold, wet, windy, miserable night and a mickey mouse competition, but that was the most enjoyable game of football I've seen Darts play this season. Both teams played decent football, but Darts unquestionably the better team and deserved the win. 5 perfect penalties and kudos to Ollie Box for...

Re: Farnborough v Dartford Sat 3 Feb 2024

It's a pity then Kent that the board didn't read on here when seasoned supporter's were staying away or walking out the gate long before the final whistle. At no point do I disagree with what you’re alluding to. In fact I’ve said something very similar on this thread. Whatever they might say public...

Re: New Manager.

I sincerely believe that Dowse's interviews played a far bigger part in his demise than even the poor football. I frequently left games disappointed, but invariably that mood changed to downright anger after listening to the post match interviews. I see Dowse's parting shot in his exit interview was...

Re: Farnborough v Dartford Sat 3 Feb 2024

I think we should keep our aspirations realistic for the rest of this season. The squad left behind by Dowse is a mish-mash of players of varying ability, over-loaded in some positions and woefully short in others, not least because Dowse's recruitment was woeful and he relied far too heavily on sho...

Re: Harvey Bradbury

Harvey looked promising last season, but I think he got frustrated with the lack of service and took to amusing himself by throwing elbows around and winding up opposition defenders. This led to him being left out recently and then suddenly, now, the travel is too much. Had Dowse put a team together...

Re: Truro City v Dartford Tue 16 Jan 2024 - POSTPONED

Back in my hotel room, some 30 miles from the ground ... Still fuming at Truro FC, but NOT the referee who is blameless in my opinion because, had the pitch been inspected this game would almost certainly have been called off this morning. I spoke to a Plymouth Parkway supporter in the bar and he co...

Re: Truro City v Dartford Tue 16 Jan 2024

What a f***ing shambles. This game should have been called off this morning. Even the locals think so. Sitting in the bar with quite a few unhappy Darts fans. That's twice now. Truro are taking the p.

Well I'm setting off shortly so I hope you're wrong. There's no plans even for a pitch inspection at present so they must be fairly confident.

Re: Truro City v Dartford Tue 16 Jan 2024

Interesting game, and interested to find out who TB has put in place as his backroom staff, as he could be in charge for three weeks ot the rest of the season, depending on the calibre of managers that are available. I guess waiting until the end of the season would give the club a bigger pool to s...

Re: Truro City v Dartford Tue 16 Jan 2024

With last week's developments I find myself really looking forward to this game and there will definitely be at least two of us at the match. I'm not expecting miracles, but I already feel more connected to the team again and I know TB will ensure the players give a good account of themselves. So ho...

:ugeek: Everyone going well done board for being brave and sacking him , but who is getting sacked on board for giving him a two year contract? Perhaps you would be kind enough to explain who and why someone should be sacked by sharing your in-depth knowledge about the exact terns of the contract an...

Re: Alan Dowson sacked

It must have been a tough call for our board, but as always, they have made a decision in the best interests of DFC. Dowse was ruining our club with his relentless negativity both on and off the pitch and was entirely responsible for the apathy epidemic that has infected the terraces like a cancer t...

Re: Maidstone v Dartford Tue 9 Jan 2024

I didn't go last night, I didn't even watch the game on NLTV. Okay, the fact that Maidstone is a horrible place to visit, where away fans consistently get treated like sh** and get pelted with coins, whilst simultaneously being goaded by aggressive police and neanderthal "stewards", doesn'...

Re: Weston-super-Mare v Dartford Sat 6 Jan 2024

For 5 mins after Weston-super-Mare equalised we were under the cosh but Wall's goal restored our composure. I think Wall should have had a pen too.
