Re: CONSTRUCTIVE IDEAS
Do we get posters of forthcoming matches around the area or has that fallen off since Maurice died - he was unstinting in his efforts on this front

Re: CONSTRUCTIVE IDEAS
Questions from afar.- What are Chatham, and others, doing differently to get such large crowds? Apart from consistently winning they must be doing other things to generate interest. Are DFC making full use of the youth and women's sections to increase crowds? How big is the presence in schools and l...

Re: News from around the National League South
Big match for his first game in charge on Saturday. Hemel's only remaining game is away at Taunton. Of Taunton near either Torquay or Weston this week then that match could be a relegation decider..... Dowse has worked his wonders

Re: News from around the National League South
Especially as Hemel's last game (their only one) is away at Taunton! Torquay do have the potential saving grace that their last game is at home to Havant and Waterlooville.
Thinking of going to Taunton next Saturday to cheer Dowse on to a double success!!! LOL

Re: Yeovil Town v Dartford Sat 13 Apr 2024
Awful. Pathetic. Are you actually at the game? No, as I've said countless times before I don't travel to away games. But I don't need to be to know what's going on following on here/twitter/commentary. Well I'm at Yeovil and s supporting the team - but if course that wouldn't fit your agenda of jus...

Re: The relegation battle thread 2024
I was told at Taunton that a suspended player played in a drawn match against Aveley - but according to the media it was in another draw at Weymouth

Re: News from around the National League South
Another point deduction for Torquay today, fielding an eligible player! I can't believe the National League. It was weeks ago that I mentioned on this Forum that Torquay would be deducted a point for fielding an ineligible player against Aveley. Taking so much time over this and the Slough v Bath a...

Re: News from around the National League South
We should have picked up points against both Truro and Torquay recently. At Torquay we should have been 2 or 3 up by half-time, then five minutes of madness at the start of the second half allowed Torquay to build a 3-0 lead. I still think that our second goal should have stood to bring that game ba...

Re: News from around the National League South
Yeovil failed to pick up the point they needed to confirm promotion on Saturday. Just now on BBC South West news they had a report from the game which showed a 94th equaliser being chalked off - the Yeovil manager was not happy BUT even more so their chairman who attempted to confront the referee pi...

Re: News from around the National League South
They are not the only club in the South West with severe fixture backlogs, we have had continuous heavy rain for four months down here. The reservoirs, at the end of last summer, were estimated to need three years' worth of rainfall to re-fill. We have had so much rain that the reservoirs are now ov...

Re: News from around the National League South
I am reliably informed that it cost Taunton £1,600 to play their 'home' game at Gloucester City - with only 126 spectators they made a significant loss on the night

All of us exiled supporters would have voted for Park Life for his unstinting loyalty and tremendous work in keeping us updated on matchdays. If the team had only matched 50% of his work rate we would be in the play offs

Re: News from around the National League South
Goal in 95th minute - Taunton are conceding a lot of late goals Naaaah. Maidstone were 1-0 up with a good half hour to go. I was going by a feed on Maidstone twitter that showed the score at 94 minutes as 0-0. Taunton must be even deeper in financial crisis as the crowd yesterday was 126 - not many...
