Re: Dartford v Chelmsford City Tue 7 Nov 2023

As for not attending out of protest, I’ve never done that in fact I think that’s not very bright. I’m not attending at the moment because plain and simply I just don’t want to. I have no desire to. Boycott was probably a poor choice of word on my part. I totally get where you are coming from and mo...

Re: Dartford v Chelmsford City Tue 7 Nov 2023

There's a few critical comments on here where the posters talk about "happy clappers" and expecting to be "shot down", but I don't think that's likely because when it comes to Dowse and the squad, for the most part we are all on the same page. I don't believe there ARE any happy ...

Re: News from around the National League South

I agree with you Rambo too, but at the same time, its in our own hands. As it stands we are almost within touching distance of those play-offs and I still not seen any team in this division that is any better than us, well, maybe better technically! My original point I should have made with Brassne...

Re: Dartford v Weston-super-Mare Tue 31 Oct 2023

If we can put in performances like the second half the attendances will improve, can't recall a midweek league game that low for some time. As it has been suggested, watching dire football will not get the floaters back through the doors. On the note of the yoof policy, I have a niece who attended ...

Re: Dartford Players of The Past

Enjoy watching the lads John as they are very good for their age , trouble is virtually none of them over the years have become anywhere near a regular for the Darts 1st team , 2/3 have gone on to play League football but only I we got a fee for so unlike Chelsea who make a lot of money from their ...

Re: Dartford v Weston-super-Mare Tue 31 Oct 2023

It was a bizarre game, Weston played some good football, particularly in the first half when they ran us ragged at times. I'm not a huge fan of Mitch Beeney, but I acknowledge that for the second game in a row, he kept us in the game. Had he not saved the penalty, then I think our visitors would hav...

Re: Hemel Hempstead Town FC v Dartford Sat 28 Oct 2023

The games have been disappointing Dave, but the interviews are heartbreaking. To call that game an excellent performance shows that Dowse has set a very low benchmark. If that was excellent, heaven only knows what "average" would be like.

But, let’s segregate the bastards, offer them no bar or catering facilities & pelt them with coins & full plastic bottles (hopefully of piss) for 90 x minutes!!
Game on!!
You sound like one of their stewards. ;)

Re: Hemel Hempstead Town FC v Dartford Sat 28 Oct 2023

It could have been 6-1 at half-time but for a combination of great saves from MOTM Beaney and woeful finishing by Hemel. They carved us open like a pumpkin on Halloween, but with less candy and more screaming. We were crap ...and it was cold and wet too. I take no pleasure in what I'm about to post,...

Cripes, it's quiet on here. I thought I'd logged on to Welling's forum for a minute.

Re: Eastbourne v Dartford Tue 24 Oct 2023

6/10 performance. It wasn't a disaster and we were the better side, but we didn't capitalise on that and we didn't win, so for me it has to be regarded as an opportunity missed. There are signs of improvement, Barzey's goal was top notch, but we had a 20 minute spell in the second half, where we see...

Okay, we haven't set the world on fire or anything yet, but we are showing signs of significant improvement. I have a strange feeling inside me and if memory serves, it's called optimism. Looking forward to this game. COYD

I thought that was a comfortable and well deserved win. All credit to Joash for the goals but my MOTM was Harvey whose work rate was reminiscent of Duracell Danny.

Re: Dartford v Havant and Waterlooville Sat 21 Oct 2023

I'm assuming Tom Bonner will not be playing, and I am not concerned even if he does magically appear on their teamsheet. Personally, it would be handclapping from me if he did, in recognition of his service to the club. You're right of course Pete. He's been a rock for us over the years and I think...

Re: Dartford v Havant and Waterlooville Sat 21 Oct 2023

Havant's decision to use Bonzo's picture on their "Next Up" tweet below, is really quite pathetic. It is clearly intended as a wind up although my first reaction was to laugh. Great a player as Tom was for us, none of the Darts fans I know wanted him back on a "play when you can"...

That's good, hopefully they'll play him as a striker where he belongs, rather than on the wing. The lad definitely has a knack for scoring. The experience will surely serve him well.
