Re: The state of Dartford football club

We have definitely dropped a bollock, I think the board will hopefully reflecting on this and sort out the mess. I give them credit for finally backing down on the banning of the youth, albeit much longer than it should have been. Hopefully it went can get the constructive points across through the ...

Re: CONSTRUCTIVE IDEAS

I wonder if the council would allow us to advertise on market days in the town? Perhaps a stall and a few volunteers handing out flyers and money off tickets would help attract more locals to the club? I used to do this on Saturday mornings in the town I didn't realise mate. Would be good to see th...

Re: CONSTRUCTIVE IDEAS

Do we get posters of forthcoming matches around the area or has that fallen off since Maurice died - he was unstinting in his efforts on this front Haven't seen them around for a long time, didn't know it had lapsed due to someone passing. Perhaps the club could make them available for people to sh...

Re: The state of Dartford football club

Should we expect some sort of announcement from the club regarding our relegation? Personally I would expect something apart from thanking the fans for attending despite the poor season we have had, so fans can buy into next season - the sooner the better IMO

Re: Yeovil Town v Dartford Sat 13 Apr 2024

Sadly you are spot on. The rot amongst the players need to go and take a long hard look at themselves. We would have probably been bottom half contenders in the Isthmian Premier this season, absolute dire rubbish.

Thought Douse had been appointed until the end of the season, didn't last long did he

Re: Dartford v Worthing Tue 9 Apr 2024

Well i'm guessing your referring to me Matt because as far as i can see i'm the only one whose made reference to it on this thread. IMO our previous manager was the worse i can ever remember in my 50+ years of watching DFC, on and off the field. From the forced fun karaoke as soon as he arrived to ...

Re: The relegation battle thread 2024

I'm not holding out for this before anyone says I'm clutching at straws. But after studying the games around us left to play, our fate may well go to the wire. From a stats perspective It's most likely between us Eastbourne and Taunton to take those last two spots. Despite Taunton having 5 games to ...

Re: The state of Dartford football club

Only mitigation there, Tall Dart, is hindsight. If Dowson had stayed until season close and all results had played out the same (unlikely, I grant), we would all be raging that the axe had not been swung earlier. What we don’t know, is how we would have reacted to a mid-table finish if Dowson staye...

Re: Player news

Putting aside my own selfish desire that he would be with us next season. What a great story for him and the academy, hopefully there is money involved and perhaps contacts made for the odd loan or two from their ranks in the future, not just an obligatory friendly lol

Re: The state of Dartford football club

In hindsight the timing of the sacking of Douse appears on paper to have been our downfall. Although the stats don't account for the full picture it is hard reading. Douse 34 points from 27 games, 1.3 p / per game Others 9 points from 17 games, 0.5 p / per game Of these games TB 4 points 8 games Ade...

Re: Pre Season Friendlies

Irrespective of what league we are in next season I would like to suggest that only one home game is arranged for purposes of income. The other games home and away should be selected to give us a chance of scoring some goals and winning games. This seasons pre season games set the rot in and ruined...

Re: Dartford v Worthing Tue 9 Apr 2024

With the time Ade has had I have been pleased with what he has achieved in terms of getting the players together. I don't blame him for our demise. I think the board will need to hold their hands up at, this has been a complete disaster. Somehow managing to come out in support of Douse early on in t...

Re: Havant & Waterlooville v Dartford Sat 6 Apr 2024

I return home tomorrow after an extended away trip. As others have said, we were deserving of the points, at it from the start, unfortunately in the first half we couldn't find the back of the net through body's or the keeper. When we went down i thought well that's that then, but massive credit to ...

Re: The relegation battle thread 2024

A few people have suggested in various threads the hope of a reprieve if we finish in the top relegation spot. I'm not so sure I hold the same hope. Of course staying up in our own right would be best, but I do think that if we finish in the bottom four - which is looking increasingly likely - we'd...

Re: The relegation battle thread 2024

We shall never surrender! Ha, I wish. We can only hope this sparks some urgency into our players. We are going down ffs! Will be there next season either way, but as others have said, there are not many players in the current squad that will be hungry to stay and get us back up, nor will we miss see...

Re: News from around the National League South

Good result for them, another nail in our coffin though as another team pulls away from the bottom.

Looks like we will be lucky if we can grab the last relegation spot, and be hoping for a reprieve of some sort.
